this sounds weirdly unlike a b9 post :|

anyway, I for one will miss her, she was a wild child of the scene and I was hoping she'd become more like Keith Richards than like Kurt Cobain.

WYSLMT and Back To Black (which will not embed for some reason - can someone try) were, imo, the best things she ever did.

I was shocked and saddened to hear this news. :(

She was a tortured soul.

I can't actually believe she was the same age as me. :?

Re: Back To Black

Thanks Henbane. Great song, but the video might upset some of her fans here. No idea why the you tube link wouldn't work for me.

i am affected somewhat by her death because i have already thought about her while she was alive (and i thought she would die soon). i thought to myself that she had a fatal incapacity to persist, and i paid no attention to my notion. now i hear she is dead i am sorry for her.

She made bad choices, and this seemed likely to happen.

But she was still a young woman, with so much potential, and her family and friends must be devastated.

My thoughts align with this and jmnixon.
It's not that it's not sad when someone dies, but I, for one, am not at all shocked.

it's the way you worded it that just sounded strangely colloquial, comparing to your usual writing style, I guess. I don't doubt that you feel affected.

this has been a day of sad news. I'm glad it's almost over :(

Lived more than most people probably ever will. It is sad that living can be so hard for some people.

My condolences and support to all the Amy Winehouse fans on WP. You supported me last summer when Pete Quaife passed away and now I want to support you with my hugs. :O)

May she rest in peace.

Its a great shame to lost a great singing voice, her voice IHOM was on par with Ella Fitzgerald.
I love her music tho IMO the best was her cover of The Zutons' Valerie.
