Depending on the subject I'm either masterful intellectual or just intellectual. 8)

This is an interesting concept to me.I think I am an intellectual with "qualifiers".I love to learn but I have only a slightly above average intellect. My difficulty with debate is that I have a large data base of information(from reading),but major difficulty in recall of names, dates, statistics. So,all though I may have read extensively about a topic,I can seldom recall my sources!!!Alot of the time I can mispronounce a word because I have read it and understand the meaning as in context of something I have read but have never heard it pronounced....also have major spelling difficulties.Because of these deficits....I think I come across as "dumber" then I really am...bit frustrating.

I am the kind of intellectual who's not enough of a public masturbator to make such a ret*d and self-important thread.

That's a bit harsh, isn't it?

I would say I'm an intellectual as I'm knowledgeable on things that mentally stimulate me. Im not a masterful intellectual as I don't know absolutely everything and have no wish to. In some cases ignorance is good I think. It gives me more chance to focus on things I should and want to.

Wannabe intellectuals make me laugh as they try so hard to understand what you are going on about and yet they never will as they don't actually have the persistence to chase anything up. Then they come away with the odd clever statement that they reckon makes them sound clever, and not know what that statement actually means. Other than that I have nothing against wannabe intellectuals, like I say they mildly amuse me.

I can't say I'm masterful. I am always learning.

I'd have to say, Street Wise. I remind myself of Bulgy The Double Decker.

Honestly, I don't really want to pick any. The simple reason being that I cannot really know exactly what I am. I would most desire to be masterful, however, everyone likes taking comfort in their own ability. For all I know, I could just be a wannabe who is too self-interested to notice that. Most people see themselves as being greater than they truly are and as such I would prefer to not falsely judge myself if only because I know I am not an unbiased observer and that others could so easily dispute whatever my claim is.
