Yeah SI is very much related to neurologic conditions comorbit with ASD. For example
people with motor tics , tourette's will often knowingly or unknowingly induce pain to
suppress motor tics.

Whiteshunk its not some sick alternative lifestyle its a neurologic condition.

Hell people who do not know about thyroid problems may not think it could make
one depressed or anxious(you know it can).

I self Injure as an escape.

Its hard being an aspie and a large majority of PEOPLE on here have considered suicide or have self harmed at one point or another.

Attempting to injure yourself is fine if that's what you want to do. Please refrain from attempting others. Bear in mind that I neither condone nor encourage self-injury.

Whiteskunk...mocking to embarres people who are suicidal or self-harm isnt going to shame them out of this behavior any more then NT bullying is going to "cure" an aspie of their aspie traits

The only remedy for biggotry is educating yourself about the group you are prejudice towards...
perhaps if you understood them better,you would be able to see them as people?Suicidal thinking and self-harm are not the best coping mechanisms...but sometimes the only one that the individual has accesss to.I still feel that it is no less "wrong" then methods other people use...drinking,drugs,getting in fights.None of these things are good but at least when I cut I was not hurting anyone else(I hid it).If the people (many of them kids) cant talk about this or are made to feel more shame how can they get help or hope that there are better ways to deal with their fears,depression,anxietys,dissociations?Perhaps if I had had a forum like this when I was a kid,I would not have felt like such a freak,so alone and alian?Maybe that would have given me a more positive out let for my confussion and lonliness.

I dont want to be grouped with pediphiles,rapist,etc...those are people who harm others to cope with their need for power....I wish they would cut....maybe they would stop hurting others?

Those first three words are so completely unnecessary, and since he didn’t say those things…
What he did is express his concern about the appropriateness of certain subject matter. You provided a rebuttal. All you needed to say was, “Self injury (SI) is a problem that some of us have to deal with. It’s not just a figment of our imagination. SI is a major part of some people’s life.” But instead, things escalated, and now ‘Skunk seems to feel like it’s not safe to express a concern about suitability. (He pmed me earlier this evening.)

We could accomplish so much more here in terms of learning about and understanding ourselves and each other if we could just remain a little more civil. I know we’re all aspies here and for that reason we need to be a little bit more tolerant and forgiving of each other. Judge as you would be judge. Cut some slack if you want some cut for you.

of self-termination. I hope he will not.

Again Whiteskunk you said nothing evil ,you are not expected to have a phd in all
medical problems. SI is not something people do out free will like get a tattoo.

All you have to do Whiteskunk is forget this and move to the next thread. You did
not have deep understanding of SI. Guess what others here do not have a deep understand of it either or they would have explained it in better terms and not said
words to cause you to have a meltdown. Guess what they are not evil either.

You can be the bigger man. Spend about 15 minutes reading on the net about SI.
Comeback give an informed opinion. If you feel you said something wrong simply
saying "your sorry" is all that is needed to make the HAND FULL of people you made
mad happy. If you feel you stated facts then no need to say more to make those
people mad.

The whole point of your post was you were feeling bad about things here. If your
good (and I think you are) you need to stay here and help make this place better.
You post more interesting things here than most and you would be missed.
