Thats really good news...seems to imply you were quick on your feet and the dogs didnt really want to hurt it....

The cat that got attacked is totally fine today thats the good news of why I am posting in this old thread.

The bad news is one of my dogs got loose this mourning as I was walking all three big dogs and when we got home he attacked a cat then as I tried to get the cat free the other two dogs got him. I got the dogs off him and he ran under the house. So now the wait begins again to see if he is OK.

I'm such a procrastinating ba$tard I decided weeks ago I was going to buy some small
pad locks to make sure their cables do not disconnect so easy :(

If I saw a dog do that to a cat I would kill the dog on the spot. In front of the owner even. I might even beat the s**t out of the owner.

I have felt like shooting these dogs many times. Realistically it entirely my fault for not
controlling the dogs. I also have a large number of cats living under the house and in the front yard so that just increase the chances of problems.

Yeah I knew the many cat lovers here would hate me for this post but it upset me so I decided to just tell the truth.

That is a very disheartening story...All of those cats are welcome to my dream planet...actually, I will summon them if they can't find their ways to my dream planet...I would pray for them so that they would be healed of all the dog bites and pains they went through...physically, emotionally and spiritually they will be free of all the pains and traumas they had to go through, and they will be welcome to stay in my planet as long as they'd like... My planet will have beautiful gardens of catnips and roses and various herbs and all sorts of plants...

and ahayes, although I feel the same as you do about these awful incidents, and I do believe you wouldn't actually get violent upon encountering such an incident, let's keep in mind that those dogs were just animals, didn't know what they were doing and were just acting out their hunting instincts...anger only brings about more pain on ourselves and others...violence doesn't solve anything...and acting out just gets us into troubles....

hmmm...I hope I'm not responding too seriously. I get really upset about these kinds of things...

Why did the other dogs attack the dog going after the cat?Are they dominant and thought they should be the ones to go after the cat or were they trying to protect the cat?Odd.Hope the attacked dog comes out all right.I am currently working and learning about dogs and they dont seem to attack to do major harm as often as to punish and sho dominance,so generally, little damage is done in their own "packs".Lets hope that is the case.

Cats are very tough (hence the "9 lives" saying). Hunting feral cats its recommended not to to head shoot them as they can often recover from a head shot. My brother keeps a number of cats on his farm to keep snakes away from the house. Cats are very resilient to snake bite (remember we have some nasty snakes). Cats are tough. I bet it will be ok.

Sounds like you cats under the house are pretty wild. Do they let you pick them up?

Our local councils loan possum traps which look at lot like this from Cabelas

You could trap the cats and then neuter or otherwise dispose of them.

I just woke up and he is walking around fine outside. :) I think my biggest dog is not
biting hard and is just playing.

I did a test a few weeks ago 5 out of 10 of the cats like to be pet. The others do not run when they see me but they do not care to be touched(that includeds the cat that was attacked by dogs last Sept.)

No Krex the other dogs did not attack the dog they went for the cat to :(
