The alternative (not going) seems much more scary. I've wasted years of my youth in that manner and the fear of repeating that propels me forward.

This thread got me thinking about the Energizer bunny. We haven't heard from him in a while I wonder if he's doing ok.

My secret agenda for world domination!

Actually I'm a little disillusioned right now. :?

Hope things will get better, combined with anger and a desire to spite the people and situations in my life that have sent me the message I can't succeed.

I'd say, my cardiovascular, endocrin and gastro-intestinal system.

Without any of them, i'd not be "going" anywhere.

There are several things that keep me going. My family is great, so they are definitely a major factor in keeping me going. They are also very supportive. Although I have been happier in my teaching positions of the past, I do have it pretty good---so I can't complain too much---but it does stress me a bit. My interests definitly provide me with the motivation to get through the day so I can look forward to quality time with my interests. I enjoy church on Sunday mornings where I am the church organist. I enjoy putting together preludes that I feel makes the congregation and me happy. Those are some of the things that keep me going.

to be serious, i do not know what keeps me going (yet), but i will explore the idea as i type my post.

i guess that the reason i do not stop going ahead in time is because i feel quite comfortable and secure.

they are very basic reasons i know. i know many people feel empty without the love of another person, but i do not need love from outside of myself. i never could perceive it anyway.

i know that i am lucky enough to be alive, and i can walk and talk (and that is an astronomically unlikely lottery i won (to be able to say "i am a person")), so i trust what i think, and if i think i am "OK", then i feel "OK".

what other people say is what they think, and i see their views like dim lights on the other side of my private membrane.

yes. that is bad.

Determination and a sense of pride, even if it's unrealistic sometimes.

Aww, that's really sweet!

Literally, what keeps me going is my coffee...lol. Kidding aside, my ambitions and dreams in life are the things that makes me go on any given day.

Really what else am I going to do?

I seem to have been born with the need to do the right thing and the need to help people which is probably not a good thing when it comes to my own well being. I sort of expected it all to be worthwhile at some point though I have begun to doubt that is the case.

I do motivate myself rather harshly by labeling myself, though it seems to be the most effective way for me to make progress.

I'm going to die someday, sooner or later. If things get really really bad, it may be likely to happen sooner, so whatever situation is really really bad would go away so far as I am concerned (hopefully at least). OTOH, sometimes good things happen, so if those happen, right on. Either way, no worries.
