I can remember as a kid getting sad when it came time to get rid ofa SUV that we had for years. It felt almost as bad as losing a pet. Even today I think sometimes I get emotional attachments to objects that I've had for some time and I'm not really sure why.

If you don't have the budget for a repair, or to get another TV just now, go on Craigslist and get a CRT set free. People give those away all the time, and they have just as good a picture as any other set, flat screen or whatever. Just heavier. I happen to like CRTs better, and it's so cool to be able to get them anytime for free; at least in big cities.
