Dear Valentine, The reason I focus on court judgements that appear to me affected by the court's (the judge? The jury?) view of women is that a trial is documented, and the details are available for anyone to see. Most other incidents can be, and are covered up. Raises at work ( she (he?) has more training than you; inequitable advancement? He (she?) has a Master'sDegree, it's not that he is a man. Over and over and over I see women playing helpless and weak to get help with their assignments, yes lifting and carrying is exhausting, but many women do handle physical labor...look at nurses, for example..do you know that there is still prejudice against male nurses? Simply, "It's not a man's job", and there are STILL people who will not see a female doctor. Sylkat

Answer: The reason for all the Misandry is Misogyny. As woman are viewed as the weaker sex they are viewed less cabaple of evil. In order to empower woman we need to treat them just like men.

Dear Ganondox, that's just what I've been trying to point out...our society continues to present women as 'the weaker sex', some women will use this thinking to their advantage, some will try to earn equal treatment. Sylkat

Men and women AREN'T equal. They are different. But anything one sex can do, another should have the right to do as well. Neither sex is better than the other, just as an apple is not superior to an orange.

The main reason women earn less is because they don't work as many hours on average, and they are not as likely to ask for a raise. Sexism might account for a couple cents, but it's not the main reason. And our form of politics, which is competitive by nature, simply doesn't appeal to most women.

Dear Donnie, I agree with 99% of your post...in my field, though(hospital), most workers are women and almost all are full time. There is still inequality and prejudice. Sylkat

Like I said, there is a little bit. But I mean, that's just the career field. That's not all of life. I'd say in the workforce, women have attained about 95% of their rights. Still a bit of work to go, but no downright oppression. In other ways, us men are disadvantaged - ie, being forced to go to war, though of course sometimes women are raped and killed in war too, on the whole men are the primary victims of war in terms of numbers. And of course, juries are far easier on women, and one thing I envy about women is that most people automatically trust them, unless they look really unruly or seem very strange. It makes me sad that some people will probably be wary of me just because I'm male, when I'm actually a really nice guy.
