Probably David Gemmell. I've read almost every single one of his novels. Sword in the Storm was my favourite.

James Patterson, Jodie Picolut, J.R.R. Tolkien, John Grisham, I even like Stephanie Meyer's books.

Neal Stephenson; Snow Crash and The Diamond Age are cleverly hilarious cyber-punk classics

I also really like Franz Kafka as well...his writing reminds me of the rules that command my dreams

Tolkein almost goes without saying...

Orson scott card. Ender's game is an amazing book

Vince Flynn and Harlen Coben are some other really good authors
