I'm missing an option for "I'll be dead so I'm not sure I greatly care." So I haven't voted.

how poetic.

cremation seems the most environmentally friendly way to go. we are running out of burial ground in some areas anyway.the land could be used for something useful or revegetated. my ashes should be composted but too much shouldn't be used because it apparently acidifies the soil.

you know the inventor of the modern frisbee had his ashes made into commemorative frisbees. I want that to happen, then I want to be flung into space! Cremation or burying is just boring to me :/

I want to be buried in a lead sarcophagus which contains the aluminum casket. Then pouring mercury into the sarcophagus then sealed off with a tight seal by bolting the lid down.

Embalmed in a heavy casket in the ground or a tomb. I believe there is a God and I want to be remembered as a Godlike person.

If I'm lucky enough to have a partner when I die; it would be her choice if I'm single & don't have ties to anyone(no dead partner that I'd want to be next to) I'd have my body donated for medical research if it could be used. I have lots of unique disorders/conditions/disabilities that I struggle with so it would be good if my body could be useful for that in death because there is a huge debt on me rite now because I know the world & my family would be better off if I was never conceived despite my best efforts. I can not help because I was born an extremely weak link & a very bad environment for my unique qualities

I understand dissolving and flushing is another available option, but exiting through the sewer system doesn't excite me. Final plans are no longer an entirely academic question for me and I've decided to be cremated, but not scattered. Give me a nice urn and niche and I'll be as happy as one can be under the circumstances.

Not embalmed in a light wooden coffin (to allow natural decomposition, my body may as well serve some use after my death).

There is a family cemetery in Newfoundland I will be buried in, on a hill overlooking the ocean in a small town of about 60 people. Every single person in the graveyard is related to me, my grand parents are both buried there, and their parents... and so on.

I'm actually a registered donor. After that (provided anything can be used) I don't really care. Whatever makes my loved ones happy, I suppose.

I have to admit, though, being buried in a sealed coffin is quite unappealing to me. I really don't understand this practice.

Non-embalmed, light coffin.
I would be okay with cremation or animals because it would "return my body to the earth" or something, but cremation provides no specific location for mourning (assuming I deserve it), and animals would likely be too violent for the taste of most.
Sky burials are hella cool though.

I'm not 100% for sure what I want here. But I am not fond of the thought of a viewing. I want to be remembered alive. So...I think it would be neat to have a viewing with am empty casket with a sign hanging from it that reads either, "Out to lunch," or "Will return in 15 minutes."

Chopin (favorite musician and special interest) had his body buried in France where he lived and his heart removed and taken by his sister back to Poland where he was from but could not return, where it is buried. I think that is such a passionate way to be buried.

But I prefer the idea of being eaten by wild animals, as long as I'm dead first.

I want to be buried in a bronze, lead lined casket with a full lid and rubber seal with a memorial tube. I want a viewing and rosary at the funeral home. I want a Requim Mass for the funeral, and everyone comes to the graveside. Then I want my casket to be placed in a granite and marble mausoleum. Not those little piddly ones. I want one with stained glass windows and a door that the family has the key to and they can come inside and sit on the bench by the lead lined granit vault and play on their ipods or something. Not a huge huge one. Just one that fits maybe six caskets with a small space in the middle for a bench or two for visitors to sit. And I do NOT want the practice that is done in some family mausoleums. When it's full and someone else dies, they take the oldest casket and open it and dump whats left in a vault underneath and break up the casket in small pieces and put it down there too. If mine is full, build another one. No vacancy!

I don't want much do I?

I'd like to be converted into Soylent Green and fed to people in high-class restaurants. People will finally say "Tallyman had great taste" :P
