I've been banned from a few places. One was because I asked to be for a month to get away from a drama. The other was because they got a spammer on the forum so they were banning them and somehow my IP ended up on their ban list. But they fixed it when I asked what I did wrong and it was a mistake they made. The other was because my friend wanted me to join the forum because he didn't like the owner and he egged me to troll it. So I did and then he was egging me to do it more and I didn't want to because the trolling got boring for me. Too much work and not in my nature to do it. So he asked for my password and I gave it to him. He spammed the forum with my posts from here and sent people PMs there. then I was banned the next day. I was banned from a bravenet forum when I was 18 because I was spamming it because I didn't like the owner. Then I was banned from Yahoo Answers in January 2010 for trolling. It only took me 30 minutes after registering there. That was the only time my trolling was successful because my aspie friend is so good with trolling she created those questions for me and I posted them.

Not banned per se, but I was driven out of a forum not too long ago.

What can I say, when I see homophobia and ignorance, I attack.

I've never been banned from a forum but I got kicked off of a mailing list because they didn't like that I liked other pairings in addition to the one the list was about. I never talked about those other pairings on the list because they would have been off topic. They also kicked me off because they thought I was gay.

I think once I tried to join a forum when I was on Webtv but was already banned by ip when I tried. That is because of the way Webtv works many users share the same ip number so if you ban one Webtv user by ip you are banning a lot of them.

I seem to sail very close to the edge on other forums, as poorly developed theory of mind causes me to make posts that are offensive to other members. Even on WP, given my length of membership and post count, I consider it a miracle I'm still involved on a forum.

Only been banned from one forum and the funny part is, it was all over the fact that they wouldn't delete my account after I got in a disagreement with the site owner. So I raised my game and a "F*** you" e-mail to the owner followed by a vague threat at legal action finally did the trick. There were a lot of things involved but it was all rather satisfying. :)

I've never been banned from any forum, but I see why some people do. Usually it's for putting other members down too much, or for cussing, or for making edgy political statements, etc. But for those of us with Asperger's/Autism, I'd bet it's because we might tend to run threads off topic too much. I know I catch myself doing that, and I've been messaged by moderators on forums for that. I listen to those warnings, and I work to stop doing it.

Most of the people who get banned from WP are banned for being repeatedly offensive to other members. There are other reasons but I'd say that covers 90% of all bans (excluding spammers who I don't class as real members anyway).

What is considered being offensive here? I was consider4ed offensive on other forums when I kept posting & taking sides on heated topics that most of the members didn't agree with. Not being afraid to be different & go against the major majority group is considered offensive to NTs

The site rules for WP are quite clear on what is considered offensive here:

Quote:
The following activities are unacceptable on WrongPlanet:

2. Personal attacks.
This includes insinuation, ridicule and personal insults, regardless of whether direct or indirect. Attacking an opinion, belief or philosophy is acceptable, but attacking the person making the comments is not.

There was only one forum ever I wasn't banned from and there people tried to kill me in real life instead. I don't count this forum as I'm not really here.

I wasn't banned, but I was flamed a lot on a band a like's forum because I was only 12 and posted something socially immature and everyone flamed me for it. Then they flamed me because I was a bad speller (not to do with AS, I don't think), because I said that I thought about one of the band member's when I went to a donut shop because I saw him eat a donut on a video, because I started a thread on something that had already been mentioned briefly in another thread (in a forum I didn't read), because I asked an "obvious" question and because I said I didn't like a website that everyone else seemed to like. I am still on that site now and everyone is OK with me and I am OK with them, this all happened 5 years ago. One of members that harassed me the most barely posts anymore, one of them is older and more mature and mostly ignores me and one has come to actually be nice to me on occasion. One member is still so-so with me; they were the least mean of the ones I wasn't found of.

Oh, and my account was frozen on Neopets because I named my pet "i_want_to_get_off", I was only 10 and meant it in a person screaming to get off a roller coaster sort of way, but the people at Neopets though I meant it in the other way.

I got banned from the Eurovision Song Contest BBC board one year. I said something rude about Italy for not entering the contest in decades. That was all it took.

My IP was banned on this site for several years because both me and my brother made an account, and apparently you can only have one per I.P. address.

I got banned one time. It was democratic underground. I was trying to show that many of the bin Laden videos don't look like bin Laden and are probably fabricated. They kept telling me that the website I got the pictures from was racist, and I was arguing that it really wasn't, that it was just against extreme forms of Zionism that have currency in Israeli politics. It was pretty stupid, and I hate censorship. There were a lot of snobs and that website too that took partisan politics too seriously. They're like the liberal variant of Free Republic in that regard.

For the most part, I don't get banned though. That was the only occurrence that that happened.

I just hate when people ignore something like this that's so obviously questionable.
