I believe in the myth that there exists a reality.

I'm not sure I believe in them but I'd love to see a UFO.

It might be my real family coming to take me home

Now THAT'S a big one...

A convenient and largely practical belief, even if untrue. But I'm not saying it is. Or isn't.

As with most other myths it comes in subtly variant forms.
(Story tellers agreeing that there is a reality differ as to what, exactly, it is.)

Starr, surely you must have done...

A cartoon strip I have:

"Look! A UFO."

"That's not a a UFO"

"It isn't?"

"No. UFO stands for Unidentified Flying Object, and anyone can identify THAT:
It's an alien spaceship."

LOL

I've seen a few communications satellites orbiting, very very high. You can just make them out on a very dark clear night.

Frankly now, I've heard some pretty convincing arguments for Bigfoot. They run along the lines of it being a previously thought extinct ape. (Think of the Coelacanth, but a hominid.) Supposedly, a majority of American Indian Tribes have legends regarding the 'old people' who were here when they arrived. These people retreated up into the wilds, away from settlements. Which makes sense, if it's an ape.

(So much research to be done, and so little time to do it in.)

(And don't get me started on the ETH nonsense!! !)

Ahem, well, since you asked Starr, and since I think so kindly of you...

I was but a young lad, aroung 12. My dad worked at Wright pattersom AFB, and we lived just outside of Dayton, OH. One summer evening I'd ridden my bicycle to a friend's house. In the distance we saw something that had a brillant light coming out of it like a triangle. Whatever it was, it was a black dot on top of this blinding beam of light!! ! My friend freaked out and said 'Bye, I'm going in my house.' I pedalled home like I had the devil himself chasing me, but sure enough, before I made it home, this thing flew over me, illuminating me in the street ! !! Paniced I rode into our garage, and no doubt panted like a fox on the chase ! !! It kept going, and I went inside to pretend nothing had happened. My eyes must've been wide as saucers ! !! A couple of days later me mum read that Wright-Pat said they were testing helicopters ! !! It was spooky, because I didn't hear any helicopter noise ! !! (Of course, me little heart might have been pounding louder than that!! !)

And that's the ONLY UFO I've ever seen ! !!

I saw one as a young teenager, so convincing and close I was terrified.

If I hadn't, just, held my nerve I might never have found out the truth.

Walking home one night along a tree-lined road from the bus stop I was tracked, followed, by large orange light. On my left it matched my pace as I walked, behind a row of trees.

Silent, glowing. I was sure I was about to be abducted. It was less than 100 yerds away.

Only it wasn't. It was actually the moon through a temperature inversion. If I hadn't seen it suddenly change as I climbed a slight rise, I would not have believed it possible.

Actually, you WERE abducted, they implanted a false memory about the moon TO CONFUSE YOU ! !! !

I cannot, of course, refute you.

But if you know with such certainty you must have been there!
Which makes you an alien abductor or, even worse,
a human collaborator betraying your own kind.
Unless you've had most of your brain replaced with alien parasitic crab larvae, in which case you couldn't help it, and could not but still feel that you are speaking your own mind, as you have been programmed to.

Umm, I've done a LOT of research, and let's let it go at that, eh?
