It's the most obvious in wedding pictures. All the ladies are in colourful dresses and all the blokes are in suits, or tuxedos. I heard some woman say, "men are all alike, so why not make them dress that way."
Oh my! Noooo! Don't go there sister!
Could you imagine her reaction if it had been a man saying the same thing about a woman? You would undoubtedly never hear the end of it. Has she never heard of feminism? It's about gender equality, which means it works for both sides darling. Men can't say stuff like that about women, therefore in all politeness you should return the favour and keep you mouth shut.

I live near the beach, so men's clothes here in general tend to be surfie fashion. Which is bright colours and patterns. I'm not a huge fan personally.
I sometimes wear men's clothes myself. Especially in winter. Men's button downs as a nightie, can't be beaten. Tracksuit pants are also wonderful, I hate how some woman's tracksuit pants are hipsters. Yuck. The same goes for board-shorts.
I wouldn't go underestimating the power of a man in a nice suit. Make a little effort brush your hair. Most straight woman find that seriously hot. I've even heard that it's the male equivalent of sexy underwear. Besides the classics are called classics for a reason.
If you find menswear boring or your style boring. Then add a little something which screams you. For example, you could wear socks in your favourite colour or buy an Avengers belt buckle if you're a fan. Little badges are also good. Strange little things like this, are good too because they are great conversation starters. Especially if someone likes the same things you do.
I think that men's fashion is sometimes boring because it isn't all that important to most of them. They tend to throw on whatever. There are some though, who enjoy it and thus manage to always look interesting. It's really up to the individual.
