Ive always wanted to get a kilt. I think they look cool and comfortable. I hate wearing pants, especially jeans. They are so uncomfortable. Is there anyplace online you can order a kilt. I wouldnt have any idea where to look for one locally.

I have to agree by and large... why should the Scottish only get away with cross-dressing! :P

Multiple places sell kilts online. If you are wanting a traditional kilt, those are generally made to measure. I hate doing this, but I'm gonna plug another forum on here - http://www.xmarksthescot.com. Almost all of their advertisers sell kilts and kilt accessories. THere's also a DIY section of the site. I currently have 2 Utilikilts, (http://www.utilikilts.com) which can be ordered online. Note: DO NOT use your pants size when ordering a kilt. PANTS LIE, Kilts don't.

Guys wearing kilts aren't cross-dressing. It's the women that put on a kilt that are cross-dressing!

I love kilts and when men wear them I can't stop myself from looking at them. They're like me-magnets. They're so hot. They were an obsession of mine in graduate school where I got to study a pre-1746 great kilt made from hand spun yarns. It was beautiful and humbling at the same time.

Well, if cash is an issue, there is a similar one in the DIY section of Xmarks called X-Kilt. If you don't mind a little time with a sewing machine, you can probably make it for about $30-40 in materials (assuming you already have the tools) if you pay full price for the material. (Last time I was at the fabric store, fabric for pants/shorts/casual kilts was in the vicinity of $8/yd) You would then have full control of all the options. This is probably what I am going to do for my next kilt, though I would like to get a traditional kilt in the tartan of my homeland...

I like men, especially Goths, in skirts. They look pretty and it's more healthy than trousers.

I wish it was acceptable for guys to wear dresses because I have skin allergies & I find pants & long sleeves make me itch. I think it may be socially unacceptable for guys to wear that stuff because of the social roles for men & women. It's demeaning for a man to dress like a woman because women used to have less rites but when a woman dresses like a man, she's just trying to fit in a man's world. Someone explained that theory to me before much better than I can explain it. Here's an old ditty about what's under the Scotsman Kilt

There are many Island cultures where it's highly acceptable for men to wear a lava-lava (sarong type garment). In fact, the lava-lava is a garment designed for men.

I have absolutely no sewing skills. That would be cool though to make your own kilt but I will have to order mine
