I'd love to have been around in Olympia and Seattle in the early 90s and hang with Nirvana and their circle before they got really big. Kurt once said that was the best time in the life of a band, and from what little I know of what it was like, I'd tend to agree. I'd have to go there with the mindset I have now, though, because if I were the person I actually was back in the early 90s, I'd have been snotty and conventional enough (or trying to be, anyway, although it really didn't suit me) to have not wanted anything to do with them.

Is that Kurt in your avatar? I have a bit of an obsession with him.

Yes, I choose the 90's. I am a fan of 90's rock.

Yup, sure is. Sadly missed (although, I sometimes don't really feel like he's gone, you know?)

Yes, when I first found out about him (I was 14), I suspected he was dead for some reason. Don't know why, just...his being alive seemed too good to be true. And yet I was still shocked when, a few months later, I found I was right. Died before I was even born. Doesn't stop me from liking Nirvana and other 90's bands, though.

Anybody else do this? I imagine myself in the 1980s/90s most of the time, at the age that I am.

I used to do it a lot for working-class northern England circa 1972. I don't do it as much anymore but the pictures and music take me back. I'm convinced I died in the 70s in my past life.
