I wear a tiny bit of Givenchy Ysatis, lately.

I used Mysore sandalwood soap to wash my hands, after my bars of Pears and coal tar soap kept going scummy.

I never used any of that stuff. My sinuses are sensitive to that & I get a headache or literally nonstop runny nose from being around people who have strong stuff on

Tell me about it. Another one is when they walk past and you are hit by this wave of perfume strong enough to strip paint. TBH I think BO would be less offensive...

I agree with that, because at least BO is natural and contains no toxic chemicals. It may smell foul, but it's not artificial. Perfumes smell nice, but it's an artificial sort of nice. It really irritates my lungs and skin.

I have known several men who appear to be under the impression that deoderants and aftershaves can be used as a substitute for washing. The result is that not only do they smell of BO, they smell of chemicals as well. :eew: One of the two is bad enough, but to smell of both BO and chemicals at once is simply too much.

Perfume is not supposed to be a substitute for basic hygiene. It's supposed to be the finishing touch that you apply once you have finished washing yourself. Assuming you have access to water, perfume is not meant to be used as a mask to cover up stinkiness.

I do not wear perfume usually but I wash myself well and use roll-on deoderant (can't stand any form of aerosol; it's just as bad as perfume. Aerosols are very bad for the lungs and make me feel like I am choking and being poisoned or gassed).

Sometimes I feel the urge to smell nice and wear purfume, but then I wish I hadn't because it makes me feel like I am gagging and choking. Once you have sprayed some on, the smell lingers on your clothes and around the house, even if you go and wash it off.

The same here.

I also refuse to use any kind of canned shaving cream. It bothers me even if I take a shower immediately afterwards and scrub for fifteen minutes trying to get it all off of my skin. I only use shaving soap that I use a shaving brush to apply.

Anytime I wear cologne or aftershave, I always get in trouble for something.

LOL, I can hear an aftershave commercial say "Aftershave; it gets you into trouble!"

Most if not all perfumes, colognes and aftershaves make me feel kind of sick, especially indoors. But there used to be a natural-scented one years ago called 47-11 that was o.k.
Even make-up with a little scent in it hurts my nose and skin.
