I am freezing from December to March, nonstop, no matter how many layers I bundle on myself (and sometimes I'll wear four layers to try to keep warm). :(

Before I idiotised and was a decent weight, I used to be very hot-blooded. I would go out in light clothing in the winter.

Now my hands turn half red and raw, and the other half turns sheet white. My fingers ache agonisingly and they feel very solid to the touch. I also loose complete feeling in my fingers. It looks exactly like when the blood supply is completely cut off. This is very, very annoying and uncomfortable and has actually reduced the amount that I go out now. Is there anything that I can do about this? I am gaining weight.

OK LISTEN TO THIS.

I wrapped f*cking adhesive BANDAGES around my fingers THEN put gloves on. MY FINGERS STILL FROZE. THEY WERE AGONISINGLY PAINFUL AND WHITE AND THE SKIN WAS NOT SOFT.

Are my veins collapsing in the cold?

Try wearing two pairs of gloves (obviously one slightly larger than the other. Having a bit of space between them will hopefully trap warm air.) Or mittens, if you can find them - fingers kept together should be warmer than if they were kept apart. Also keep your hands in your armpits as much as possible. Something else I heard once, is to make sure your torso is as warm as humanly possible. This helps to keep your limbs warmer and promotes good bloodflow.

And ultimately, just try to stay inside as much as possible during the winter.

Good luck with getting to a better weight, though - hopefully that will help to.

Thanks for the advice! I believe I have some mittens, somewhere... I will find them! Thank you! Image
