One thing that has been really driving me up the wall lately (and it really shouldn't but it does anyway) is that whenever other people hear The William Tell Overture they think it's called the Lone Ranger's Theme. It was NOT created specifically for the Lone Ranger movies, it's a classical piece that's been around for hundreds of years! This is going to sound crazy, but I think the song is about William Tell, you know the guy who shot an apple off his son's head? They even played it as the into to You Can't Do That On Television. Sheesh!

People who see conspiracies everywhere.

People who claim that one particular ethnic group invented everything.

People who refuse to answer direct questions, but who instead imply that the person asking the question is too stupid for the answer.

-People who think the William Tell Overture is called The Lone Ranger's Theme.

-Those "Healthing" ads for Lysol that shows a helicopter mom giving out the message that if you don't make your child live in a "Bubble Boy" environment you don't love them. Welcome to Superbug City!

-Ads where only women eat salad or yogurt or do all the housework and act like they love it.

-When I ask someone what they think about something and they answer, "what do YOU think?", which is stupid because if I didn't want to know what they thought I wouldn't have asked.

-Psychiatrists whose answer to anything I say is to either check into the hospital or take some new kind of drugs.

-Society glorifying the abuse of alcohol and other drugs while eating a fast-food cheeseburger is a cardinal sin.

-People cracking their knuckles and then acting like I'm the strangest human being in the world when I ask them to please stop because the sound makes my hair turn grey.

-Masculine made-up names for cosmetics that were once exclusively for females like "guy liner" and "male polish". And yet earrings are still called earrings even though about the only men who wore them not so long ago were pirates and gypsies. :)

-Any "joke" that has woman, kitchen, and/or "sammich" all in the same sentence.

-Anyone who thinks Asperger's is not a real condition or that people are using it as an excuse for their socially inept behavior.

-Women's magazines that scream about a new diet that will make you lose a ton of weight, and then the next week they're screaming about whole new different diet, and they also scream about different things that will rapidly relieve stress, help you sleep, cure a cold, etc. etc.

-Any diet product that claims to help you lose weight "with diet and exercise". HA!

-Any food product that bears the label "may help lower your risk of insert health problem here". I don't want it to "may help lower" anything, I want it to ACTUALLY lower it! How vague can you get?

-Any product that claims to give you healthy-looking skin. I want my skin to actually BE healthy, not just look that way.

- Not being able to gloat over a hard-won victory without acting like a braying jackass.

- Malicious interference on 27.185 MHz near Disneyland.

- Sore losers.

- The guy in the next office (he's on a diet of fruit and legumes).

- Forum trolls.

- The sound that water bottles make when you squeeze them.

I'd be tempted to gift that guy in the next office some Beano. (He can't get to the bathroom?)

Love these lists.

- Doctors who refuse to believe in side effects to the medications they nonetheless prescribe at the drop of a hat, and often, off label at that. I've actually heard things like "oh those are just made up by test subjects who exaggerate." The companies who manufacture those pills assemble those lists, and the lists pharmacists get are much, much longer. I've spoken with people who used to work for FDA reporting agencies who said they were told to minimize any symptoms real patients (post approval guinea pigs, we all are) reported. Minimize. But yeah. Side effects don't exist according to most doctors and if you get some, be prepared to be shut out in the cold.

That is my biggest one, for obvious reasons. :)

LOL! Sorry that was quite a humorous image. Sounds like a great story though! But annoying while it happens.

Yeah somehow I always feel targetted when those people are around, like you couldn't get out there quickly enough to save your own ass from possible humiliation.

What is an AB/DL man?

Places which close early annoy me also. Especially places like fast food, which often shut down ice cream machines or things like that which require time to be cleaned after closing time, an hour early, or refuse to turn it on at all that day. A lot of those places, the workers will say "it's broken" when clearly it isn't (because it worked the day before and day after and they never get fixed that quickly.) Or they didn't want to stay after work and clean the machine down, so they shut it off an hour or more ahead of closing instead. I am sure their bosses don't know.

It hasn't happened recently as we simply stopped going out to eat for the most part. But it is annoying to sit in a drive through lane on a hot day, for a half hour, only to get to the window and be told "the machine isn't working today." Only on days their boss wasn't there. ;)

Then there are boutiques and such with no boss present either, in which the person clearly wants to get home or to happy hour so they shut the place up a half hour to ten minutes before closing time. Totally dark, which means, they left some time before. To me, if someone pays you and you don't work hard as you can, it's a form of stealing.
