They're not worth it if your mother refuses to spend $400 on a video game console, and an additional $100 for a game to go with it. I think I'll stick to my PS2 and DS Lite.

Wii is like $250, that gets you the sports game and a "full" controller. (nunchuck and remote). Games past that are like $50, unless its virtual console, then its $10.00 at the most for N64 games, as little as $5.00 for NES games. I'd say that's about on par with the PS2 except for the system price, but even then, compared to the 360 and the PS3 that's not paying nearly as much.

The Wii is $400 here in Australia. The PS3 hasn't been released here, but it will be $1,00 as advertised by Toy World in my hometown. The 360 is around the $600 mark. That means I can't get a next gen console until they drop down in price.

Hmmm if I'm getting a new games console, it will be the XBOX 360. It doesn't look like it though. I'm sticking with my PC at the moment.
