i thought it was funny...too much politically correct talk these days for my taste...

i don't support bills that nobody read nor understood made by large corporations intending to make their pockets thicker...nor bills bullied into consent...nor bills that violate a persons freedom to choose a boat or health care plan...

no offonse blabby....just not my cup of tea...not on either of the sides...just from a libertarian stance...

Get a freaking clue.

The ACA was debated for over a year, Representatives seldom read their own bills, they have teams of lawyers for that, and it doesn't violate your freedom in that you do not have to choose a plan from the exchange or any plan at all. I agree that it's based on for-profit insurance companies, but single-payer isn't politically viable at this point in our history.

People have more choices now with it than they did before. Before some people could not access health insurance due to preexisting conditions or not being able to afford it so when they got sick they could not make a choice to see a doc or not because they had no way of affording it. Now people have a choice about what insurance plan they get & they are able to make a choice to see a doctor or not instead or not being able to due to having no insurance & not enough money to afford it. The ones who have their choices impaired by the Affordable Care act are the health insurance providers because they can no longer discriminate based on current health, gender, race, & job type.

well thats news to me....interesting...didn't know they have teams....why do we elect them then? =/

why aren't we electing teams?

my opinion that they should read every word in every bill....and if that's too long and too hard for one person then the bill should be fixed.

I'm definitely not for single payer...

when i say it is taking away the rights of a person by that i mean is taking away the right for someone who is very low risk and only needs very minimal coverage not the smorgasbord of requirements that they will now have to pay for but never use. In a bureaucrats mind they are a liability by not being covered but really it's just to get more out of this program/bill. Sure some accidents are unavoidable but you don't see them fixing the hospital system, because there isn't enough money in that.

some say they want this thing to fail so that they can say it needed to be bigger and so they will bring in the single payer system

as far as the aca being debated for over a year...it was maybe compiled over a year....debated...not so much imo.....just took that long to get everyone's special deals in there

sure im a bit jaded towards it..and most likely we'll end up having to improve it over time....but it definitely needs work imo

Your Boat Bill is far too succinct, it needs to be about 2,700 pages.

I suppose the analogy works if everyone lives on an inescapable floodplain and those who previously didn't boats were always rescued at everyone else's expense.

We already do have government provided boat service.

Its called "the coast guard".

If your yatch flips over in a storm at sea the coast guard is who rescues your ass.

So..you're right.

Lets get rid of the coast guard.

Commericial fishermen, sports fisherman, yachtsmen, merchant marine sailors, in a mishap- you're all on your own now! Hope the sharks eat you fast- so that you dont die a long death from thirst, starvation, and exposure.
