I never been banned from anything but members petitioned to have me banned years ago on one forum I used for a long time. I was going through a bad depression & kept posting about things & asking for advice & the way I analyzed things came out as being argumentative. I also said some stuff trying to be funny that was interpreted as being mean/hateful/disgusting even thou it was considered funny when other members said similar stuff; friggin Aspieness & my reputation getting worse. Also the site had been closed off when I joined but started accepting new members & a committee was formed to approve em & thus the forum gradually changed & I fit in less & less. I voluntarily left because being there was just making me worse emotionally instead of better in the end thou it did help abit in my 1st couple years there. The only forum I use nowadays is WP I'm aLOT better here than anywhere else. I'm buisier nowadays than I used to be so that helps some too.

BTW incase anyone cares & I'm NOT advocating doing this especially here on WP but using proxy servers with your browser or a VPN & re-registering with a different SN can get around bannings on lots of forums. I never did that on forums but I know because lots I used had problems with spammers & trolls doing that. & incase any mods read this are wondering I do use the VPN, Private Internet Access for file-sharing but occasionally it may not be on or I post from my girlfriend's laptop or my phone.

I got banned once and totally deserved it. It was actually in an AOL chatroom. A relative was visiting and we stayed up all night, and ended up really slap happy. We went to a political chatroom where a bunch of yahoos were saying things such as "We went into Iraq because they were the ones responsible for 9-11." They did quite a bit of Limbaugh quoting, as well as talking about the enormous quantity of weapons of mass destruction found in Iraq. Well, we started chatting, pretending that we had similar sentiments. at first we were lauded for our knowledge of the "truth." It didn't take long or us to start "out yahooing the yahoos', and, yeah, we were turned in. We said some really terrible things. It took so long for the others in the chatroom to stop cheering our every ridiculous word and that we were actually mocking them.

We did not just get kicked out of the chatroom, but off of AOL. [ I would've kicked me out] My now husband called, apologized and told AOL that we would not fight the decision. When AOL looked at our account and saw not only were we paying AOL charges, but we were still paying the $20 a month charge rather than the $10 a month, or free, as many other members of AOL, they begged my husband to stay with AOL at a reduced rate. So he did.

Every holiday the kids tease me about "perfect mom" getting kicked off of AOL.

Yes, I do.

"Politely"? "Kindly"?

REALLY?

I'm being polite right now, yet I'm also telling you that we only have your side of the story, and that since you've been banned from many sites, it is most likely that YOU are the problem, and not the Internet.

So look to yourself first, before blaming others for not wanting you around.

What part of "Hey, um, Bronies, if you want to watch MLP, that's OK. If you want to go to brony conventions and have a fun time, that's OK as well. If you want to spam it everywhere, it would be cool if you stopped. Thanks." sounds like being rude, exactly?

It could come across as sounding like "STFU and don't post about stuff that I'm not interested in."
If you see a MLP picture, just scroll past it. Problem solved.

Okay, dude, you're just trying to troll me. You know dang well that people are spamming ponies and hiding it isn't gonna help. I've seen ponies on every thread I make on other forums spammed to the max, hateful, hurtful things like "OMG I would agree with you, but you hate MLP [innacurate:i hate the mlp FANBASE, not the show itself] so [CENSORED] you, heres a picture you might like [picture of mutilated baby gore]"
Sorry to be like this but honestly, it's what happens to me every time I go on forums other than WP. Honestly, MLP is the #1 spam of the three years. Yeah, forgot that for a second didn't you? The MLP spam bait has been going on for three years, and only SLIGHTLY has it dropped. If you STILL think that bronies are innocent... Well, let's just say you might be a little bit crazy.

Oh, and also, I scrolled past an MLP picture [or fifty] on Google Images after looking up MLP and the spam problem was not over.
And as for the petition ban thing [not quoted to reduce page size, look for it yourself]... I had a similar story with the ROBLOX forums.
Imagine: You are a little kid, you are on this fun website called ROBLOX, and you click on the forum, not even sure what language "forum" is from.
Little did you know, you were going to start one of the biggest forum wars ever.
You happily made a few threads and they got blammed like crazy, hatefulness crammed in every reply, all because you didn't use grammar.
You then found a forum roleplay. You sloppily made a few fancharacters, and then the roleplay didn't go far before it went down in a flame war.
This occured in an endless loop, one friend made, until finally, you quitted that section of the site forever. Those sloppy fan characters would then become fully developed, three-dimensional characters with their own personalities, your magnum opus, you would get smarter, join Wrong Planet, have the guts to troll 4chan, and fight off a spam apocalypse of horses.
Fastpager200 was your username.
Now exuse me while I wash off that pesky dramatic longness off of me.

I'm extremely surprised MLP is that popular now Joe, I thought it was just an Aspie intrest because when I was a kid boys & older girls were bullied for liking it because it was a show for "little girls". I was teased for watching it along with the others even thou I never watched it. I could get that it's a popular show amungst Aspies even thou it's for "little girls" but they wouldn't be trolling about the show on forums

I got kicked off of a yahoogroup (or maybe it was still onelist) because the owner found out that I enjoyed other fanfic pairings besides the one that the list was about. They were homophobic too. It was really ridiculous because I never even mentioned other pairings or anything gay on the list because it would have been off topic since the list was about a specific heterosexual pairing. They only knew because I had a fanfic web site at the time and they saw it and asked me about it in private e-mail.

Other than that I'm pretty good at not getting muted or banned.

No, blaming others for the problems they create for themselves is not 'trolling'; it is simply telling it like it is.

I agree with him, and suggest that if you see an MLP-based post, then just ignore it and move on.

I got banned -by the court- from the whole of Manchester city centre when I was a kid.

I've never been banned from an internet forum though.
