It seems like it's just bad English written with numbers substituted for some of the letters. How is that a new dialect? It's just a childish kind of code, really, and not even a difficult one to decipher. Pretty lame, IMO.

Actually, apparently l33tspeek is frowned upon in online MMORPGs.

And besides: a new language is not merely the encoding of written statements by substitution of alternative characters. A new language must include the specific features of unique grammar and syntax. Boontling is not a true language either.

I think anyone that uses leet speak other than in a joking manner should be blasted into oblivion with God screaming "H4h4, pwn3d N00blingz0r!!11".
