Dogs are my favourite animal. I have two named Quaffle and Quibbler (yes, it's from HP). Everyone here seems to be cat people, but I strongly dislike cats. I guess I'm the only one. Oh well...

Why do you dislike cats?

While I do have a strong preference for cats, I also like dogs, and a lot of other animals. We have a dog at home, she's a dalmation, and her name is Melody.

Mine is the horse. Though my chinese symbol is the snake, I think. I hate snakes though, so I don't agree with that! And I also hate cats, they just make me shudder. Just the house cats though, I like the the leopards and tigers. 8)

Well, I don't know what it says about my personality, but my favorite animals are cats, followed closely by dolphins. My 10 year old's favorite animals are orcas, while my other son likes pandas.

The cat in my avator is my pet Somali cat. Somalis are known as the Fox Cat, since a lot of them have similar coloring to foxes, and big bushy tails.

I like a lot of other animals, too. I pretty much like all animals, although there are some that creep me out. For example, I don't like octopi or sea horses. There is a video on the Internet that shows an octopus "walking"! To me, it is very creepy. I think sea horses are fascinating, but they also scare me.

I like platypuses, although they aren't my favorites. They're odd, and I feel odd, so I chose "platypus" as my user name. I also like naked mole rats. I think they're funny, and I'm glad there's a cartoon naked mole rat ("Rufus" from Kim Possible).

I don't realy have a favorite animal, as i like them all. If i had to say so, however, i would choose the falcon. They are not only cool, but can also be trained to hunt small fowl. They are so wicked!

As for my own pets, i have an old Laborador Retriever named Jake, an orange tabby cat named Sonny, and a Siamese kitten named Sammie.
The former two we've had for a while, but we picked up Sammie quite recently when Dad found her abandoned at a gas station where he was working. We were originally going to give her away to another family, she somehow put her cat charm on all of us, and we kept her. Even Sonny likes her, although the two of them can't walk withen a foot of each other without getting whacked by the other.

I am really allergic to cats. If I'm in a person's house who owns a cat for even five minutes (mind you I don't even have to be near the cat) my body breaks out in hives, I get a horrible headache, and my eyes swell and water. It's not pretty. But just my being allergic isn't the only reason. I've just never really been fond of cats. I can't really think of a specific reason why.

Some friends of the family have cats that are part bobcat. They are so cool. I like those ones, even with the allergies. They act more like dogs, though. They are friendly, and they fetch and wrestle.

Dalmations seem really nice. My dog, Quaffle, is part German shepherd part golden retriever. My other one, Quibbler, is a Cavalier King Charles spaniel.

Dunc tries to act shocked.... nope, can't pull that off...

I like dogs, except yappy little ones (aka 'rats on leads'). Not that I have anything against rats, my best pet as a kid was a black and white rat which would sit on my shoulder while I read. That was a well read rat.

I can see how that would give you a predisposition toward disliking them, eheh. That sounds really awful.

I have heard about that type of cat before. Do you need a special permit to own them?

Are these the type of cat you are talking about? I saw an article on MSN awhile ago about them, they seem very cool!

Another cat you may like is the Maine Coon. They are also somewhat dog like. They tend to bond very closely with their owners, and are more outgoing than a lot of cats. They are also larger, and they actually enjoy swimming.

Dalmations are very affectionate dogs, but they are so high energy that they can be quite difficult to handle! She has, fortunately, calmed down a bit since she was a puppy.

I love German Sheperds. I think I want to get a German Sheperd mix of some kind when I have my own place.[/url]
