I got one for my 12th birthday too. My mother worked for Philips so 3 guesses as to the manufacturer. Can't remember the model though. I do remember it was rectangular and small enough to fit on my desk. I used to listen to Radio Luxembourg 208 on medium wave and the reception was never the best but I didn't care.

Transistor radios, from my conception of them, were 3-4 inches wide and 8 inches in length.

sorry, that was in 1969, 45 years ago, my memories from then have faded.

My mother had her own in the kitchen and compared to hers mine was a little one.

I had one that my Grandma gave my parents when I was 11. My parents gave it to me due to my radio habits.
