There's far more conformists in the workplace than in college, yet you still want a job, don't you?

Let me be a cautionary tale. I'm 35 and finishing my degree this year. The 17 year plan sucks. I make decent money, enough to support a family and own a house, but I have absolutely no more upward mobility until I finish school. In essence, I'm trapped in the middle management layer, and I can't stand it, even though I'm lucky to have climbed to the middle at all. Depressing, isn't it?

Excuse me? I haven't done that much social interaction at University, and yet I've got a Bachelor's, and am starting a Master's.

You've got that backwards, my friend. Weirdness is tolerated in college but not in the workplace, and you're never going to meet as diverse a population anywhere as what you'll find in a university setting.

I don't consider YOU a ret*d, a fag, or an etc. An annoyance, perhaps, but you have good taste in films. You'll change your mind as your graduation from high school gets closer.

Your and society's loss.

You're too pessimistic. Overcome these obstacles, or do you think you're the only one here who had a crap family life (or, in my case, a crap parent) and being bullied at school?

Remember the song "I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never gonna keep me down."

I use that as my attitude to life. If you are just going to let these obstacles overcome you, well, I won't comment. Surely you want to be something, something like "That Unknown, he helped the world" or "He made a lot of people happy", and by those comments, I mean by your continued and beneficial presence on this earth, rather than you leaving it.

People are still going to know you at work though.
