Yeah, collies are EXTREMELY clever----I LOVE them!! My all-time favorite dog, is a German Shepherd----EXTREMELY smart----but, they've got that hip problem.....

My favorite kind of cat, aside from your basic dark-colored tabby, is the "Maine Coon"----I want TWO (male and female). When I was a kid, I knew someone who had one----it was about the size of a twin bed (length & width [with it's legs out])!

This is the EXACT coloring, that I like (in Tabbies, as well):

Actually when Benji and a piece of biltong cross paths, the biltong entirely disappears...

I love all the dogs I've seen on this thread, and indeed all the pets too, although I only view horses from ground level and would never want to be atop one's back...

Hip dysplasia is common in larger dog breeds.

A Maine Coon similar to this one?

Yikes, that is a big cat
The silver tabby is a beaut too...

I have two little fluffy dogs that make salami and anything that falls on the floor disappear and two bigger dogs that disappear into the darkness at night... rotties. :)

Yeah, I put a picture in my post (it was on the page you posted----the lady holding the cat over her head)..... Didn't MY picture, show-up?

I don't like the silver ones, as much----they're nice, though.....

Like kraftiekortie, I too am slightly afraid of horses. I have no experience with horses other than a 5-day riding course I took at the age of 8.

I am very charmed by donkeys though :) I couldn't actually have one where I live, but I wish i could.

Reptiles are my favorites! :D

Enviro, thank you for posting the pic and vid of Benji. It was so much fun to see him "live"! :D Awesome!

OMG Cat, that's a huge cat!! ! 8O

Cat, collies are very clever indeed. They are very easily taught and they pick up things and see patterns and learn from them very easily. Collies are my favorite dog. :)

I know, right!! Imagine if I had TWO of them, like I'd like to have----there'd be NO ROOM left in the bed, for ME, for instance!! LOL

Yeah, that's why I love German Shepherds, so much----they're SOOOOO smart!! I love Collies, too----but, I wouldn't wanna deal with all that hair! Do Collies have hip problems?

Haha, you would probably only need one cat that size for there to not be room left in bed. I remember how much space Viggo managed to use! This image is pretty true:

Yeah all the hair is a bit of work, that is true.
Fortunately, while collies are a larger breed and thus somewhat at risk, hip dysplasia isn't too common for them.

Viggo suffered from exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, so he had to eat a special type of kibble. When he came to us he weighed 19 kilos and was underweight. We felt his ribs too much, and frankly I don't get why his former owners didn't take him to the vet. He was too thin. When we found out he had exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and started feeding him his special kibble, he put on some weight and reached normal weight. At most he was 27 kilos, for the most part he was around 24, all of which is within the norm for a male collie. He was always a thin dog.
Collies can be a breed that can put on too much weight, but he had the opposite problem due to his condition.

Was your dog named Viggo, after Viggo Mortensen, who played Aragorn, in "The Lord of the Rings"----or, is that a fairly common European name? Where are you from, again, Skil----the Netherlands?

That pic of the "dog bed" was FUNNY----that's EXACTLY the way it is, with pets----and, most wouldn't have it, any-other-way!!
