Does anyone not have an exciting life story?
I had a very dull childhood - homeschooled, fanatic Christian parents, afraid of other people because I didn't know there were people who weren't out to hurt me. After I left, my life has steadily become more interesting as I explore new areas.
It's been a rather slow process, and there still seems to be a lot that I'm missing.
Eventful doesn't mean exciting. It could also mean worrying or anxiety inducing life. The most eventful year of my life? At age 12-14, where it is so far the worst moments of my life, I would never count that as exciting ever. I prefer to be bored to death than getting tortured and confronted at those times.
Best eventful moments I had when I was just 8 years old, a vacation to my mother's hometown, which is an entirely different place in another island; it was a rural setting, not like the urban setting I grew up. Just before that, it was my 1st time boarding an airplane. Meeting a LOT of cousins (out of 5 aunts and 6 uncles, and that doesn't stop there) I had swam in salt water, and DID confirm salt water REALLY hurts upon eye contact. And oh, I grabbed (not caught by myself, but newly caught fresh straight from a pond) a live fish once, I end up wrestling it (I'm not exaggerating!! !) despite being over 6 times smaller than me. Because the said fish is just as slippery. I wanna go there again someday.

Oooh, and life gets a little more exciting lately..
I've spent the last 8 evenings at the most amazing nude beach on the planet (Wreck Beach) - the place is a total carnival at sunset on weekends. Hippies, drum circles, cheering at the sunset - it's pretty wild!
Just picked up a few very cool project opportunities.. stamped coloured concrete patio, office renovations, green wall for my friend's lobby, a bit of industrial engineering for global manufacturing setup/distribution design for his new (electronics) product line, some specialized cooling system plumbing in a new microbrewery, and my current project - a charity fundraiser party - plans are coming along smoothly.. which has led to management & the owners informing me yesterday that I have another new hat to wear at work as "Community Relations" since I'm already schmoozing all the local businesses to get them to donate raffle prizes and let me advertise our party at their places.
I couldn't imagine leading a boring life. EEEEEFFFFFFFFFF that!

I've done some crazy things I'm not proud of; still, I can't complain. Could be better, could be worse.

I suppose people could say I've had a full and exciting life... I've been afforded opportunities not given to most and despite my social anxieties, I've managed to do a lot.
My parents homeschooled us because of my brother, but we weren't the classic Christian homeschool family, we went out and did stuff, plus both my parents are college educated biologists, which helped. The world was my teacher. We would go travel and sail the boat, do reenactments (renaissance, rendezvous, civil war/Dickens/Victorian), go hiking, take road trips across the country and to Mexico, learn everything we could about how people used to do things, like spinning and weaving and candle making... We were very very hands on learning, and mom was a stickler for us learning, though she let us pick the languages we wanted to learn at least.
I've even gotten to travel alone to China, sung in three different classical music concerts, two of which were international, been places like the Magic Castle, dined with world famous musicians, have relatives in the entertainment industry who have allowed things like this to happen.
My family has never been rich, just somehow these opportunities have happened. I don't know how, but I will not take them for granted. I do not want the lessons I've learned to go to waste, talking to so many different people who have survived things that most Americans don't seem to even know about.
Of course, now, with the kids, the most excitement I'm fine with is getting a grandparent to babysit and going somewhere with my husband to relax... -_- Hopefully I can give them the experiences I was allowed to have.
(and sorry, I am very wordy. I tried to keep it short...)

Did my second Tough Mudder in Whistler yesterday.. you know, just to keep things interesting. It was tougher than before with bigger better obstacles.. and it rained, cold rain. It was so cold for a while that people were shivering and huddling together for body heat.. and I thought I was going to have to call Search and Rescue to help find my dick.
Anyways, yeah... all just a part of what I took away from Tedx Vancouver last year, which is to "Live a life's story worth telling." Can't go on doing that very well without a little excitement!
