I looked at this upside down, i.e. towards the direction where the arrows point. I wonder if the arrows perhaps point into a car park, under the apartment building.

10 pies is Spanish for 10 feet, so pies is simply a translation of feet.

About Google maps, I looked at where I lived between 2000 and 2003. Branching off from the street where I lived, Google maps has a street that doesn't exist.

The Mini is actually bolted to the side of a building with some road guidelines painted with it! We have an ad like that in town which says "Can't find a park?"

Heh, that kind of reminds me of Camden Market in London...there, most of the shops lining the main road have giant shoes or stetsons and other things sticking out of them, depending on what they sell...never ceases to amaze me.

I'm with the wall-painted-like-a-carpark suggestion.

Quite WHY you'd paint carpark markings onto the side of a building, complete with stuck-on car, I'm not entirely sure - but somebody artistic probably got a government grant to do it.

But it's too much of a coincidence for that - what are the chances of Google Earth's photo being at the exact angle to see such a mural properly? Also, from the ground, it would just look like a red smear down the building. I'm sticking with 'photographic error' as my explanation.

Dutch people are weird.

It's spelled "The Hague," not "s'Gravenhage."
