trees that do not grow thorns. One day after it had rained a friend and I were shaking the trees making the water fall off. I grabbed one tree not seeing it was covered with huge thorns and started shaking it. Then I saw my hands were bleeding and I ran to my mom crying. :?

I would say my favorite tree is a magnolia tree because they make one of my favorite flowers the magnolia flower!

I have a nature preserve behind our (my mom and I's) house, so it's trees galore here! There's also three lakes and a river back there as well.

What tender sentiment. Something must come of this.

Here's my second favorite tree:
#2 The Larch

My favorite is the weeping cherry. It combines the cherry blosoms & weeping willow look. Very awesome.

There's a park I used to go to a lot, with a ton of magnolia trees. The whole place smelled wonderful. Kinda fruity, like something you should at least try to eat.

My favorites though are palm trees. Here, there's at least a few planted on almost every block. They feel like home to me.

The Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica), a.k.a. sugi. Sugis grow in very interesting shapes, especially when the trees are younger. Here is my little 2 year old sugi:

Adult trees look like this:

Here is a close-up of the feather shoots (the outermost needle branches) of an adult sugi, which seem to crawl over each other like caterpillars:

The needles are also very soft and rubbery, unlike most other conifers. I usually like deciduous trees better, but sugis are special :3 They also make great bonsai trees.
