routemasters seemed like very good buses to me (and they still are, I have seen one or two around my area since they were got rid of in London), why they got rid of them is beyond me, most modern buses seem to be useless for lots of reasons, and, of course, the routemaster is THE bus that symbolises London

Livingstone got rid of London's symbol and that was very silly of him to do that. I can't see him getting many votes in the next election. :roll:

It's almost one where I live and I still haven't felt that twinge of sadness. I find that quite strange for this date of the month. I'm still a little angry over the incident, though.

I'd say that at the moment you're over the demise. Maybe other recent emotional happenings have something to do with it?

Boris Johnson say's if he becomes mayor he will scrap bendy busses and have a modern Routmaster designed for London streets :)
