Do you tend to get obsessed with diseases and conditions? This is one area of my obsessions.. diseases, conditions, disease processes, medical research, etc., especially just like that: if I hear of something new, I'll research it endlessly until I know everything about it from A-Z.

In fact, that's how I first found out about aspergers. I read the name of it in a book, didn't know what it was, and couldn't read another word of the book until I stopped and researched it endlessly..

:D
:D

When I was a kid, I used to read my parents' medical books. Not so much anymore though, unless there's something specific I want to look up.

But what's wrong with obsessions? I know what NTs think is wrong but that's because when they have an interest, they just skim the surface and then forget about it. But aspie interest and enthusiasm don't wane. We stick to an interest until it surrenders all its secrets, and then some.

What's wrong with that? We're not social butterflies but we're not intellectual butterflies either.

The word 'obsession' is negative and should be replaced by a word denoting profound interest - can't think of one right now.

So you go ahead with Hetrochromia and I'll go ahead with Zermelo-Fraenkel Axioms. And don't think I'll be bored with yours, aspies are curious about things (unlike NT's, who talk about themselves or money).

It's just me being a idoit about it is all.

Is this sectoral heterochromia? These are my eyes, by the way. It's my left one that has a patch of brown in it. My dad and my brother have blue eyes, and my mom has hazel eyes. I actually had blue eyes until about puberty, when they started turning green. My driver's license actually lists my eye color as blue, because I wasn't sure when I was sixteen what color my eyes were.

This is a close-up of my left eye:

I find eyes with heterochromia to be more beautiful than normal eyes...

I didn't know it was an autosomal dominant trait though. Do you know whether it's caused by inheritation of a rare, albeit dominant gene or whether it's a dominant genetic mutation (like polydactyly)?

Nope. But I can tell you this;

Another (albeit, even rarer) explaination is chimerism.
