About the "number of the Beast" from Revelation:

The important thing (I think) is not the actual number (666 or 616),
but the name: Nero Caesar. (666="nrn qsr", the Hebrew rendering
of that name.) An arch-persecutor of Christians in his time, and
his career was almost the ideal for an "anti-Christ".
