I just like the music. Though my tastes lean more towards Industrial than Goth. (I'm old enough to remember when the kids who wore black all the time called their music 'Death Rock', the precursor to both Goth and Industrial.)

If you consider yourself a goth, then you're a goth. There's no secret goth criteria list hidden in a heavily fortified goth temple 6 miles under Hot Topic that says you have to listen to death metal to be a goth. You are what you are. Call yourself whatever you want.

I don't know how old you are RoseRed, and I wouldn't want to be inappropriate. However there are other subcultures that wear black, have things for sharp objects and usually divides theirselves into those who love to give pain and those who love to receive pain. And they are not called Goths. If you are over 21 or 18, what ever makes you an adult in your area of residence I can give you a few sites that aren't gross or anything.
