I am autistic as well but I'm not 'pro-cure.' You will find that most aren't. Just because some people hate their lives, doesn't mean we should all have been killed...
And no, Autism is not a disease.

I wouldn't.
I would hope my family wouldn't.
And so what if some people would?
I would be happier without certain religious people.
Should we shoot all the Catholics then?

I'm fine with myself and all of the people I know with ASDs.

Religion though, that is tough, but I still respect their right t believe, just that I agree with George Carlin who said, "Keep thy religion to thyself!"

I don't wish to be cured, either and I have more problems than the average WP Member and I still don't want to be cured.

You're right about the second one. But wrong about the first.

It's not really about 'neurotypicals' though is it? Some people are nice, many people are not. That, at the end of the day, is what it really comes down to.

I don't wish to be cured, and I'm glad I wasn't aborted, I'm actually against abortion. My biological mother was raped, and still had me! She could have aborted me or killed me some way or another, but made sure I was put in an orphanedge and eventually adopted out. I'm not proud to be autistic, but I'm not upset, its apart of me, and makes me who I am now. And I was dx with HFA.

I'm anti-abortion, since I believe choice is made to use, or not use, contraception, but understand there are extreme cases and thus outright banning would not solve anything.

I only replied because it is a pet peeve of mine that in this country they campaign by saying their opponent is pro-abortion, which is not true (except for apparently aspie17). Most people are against the idea, but respect the choice involved, which is where I stand. I do think it is wrong and fear its use as our understanding of genetics evolves. As a man in particular, I believe the father should have a say as well. I lost two children due to miscarriages and their memories still hang over me as what could have been. I can never undertstand anyone making that choice, but it is not mine to make.

I am fortunate to have my three clones though and they are the only things that bring me joy on a daily basis.

I am anti-abortion as well. But pro-choice at the same time.
I sympathise with men whose wives/girlfriends etc have an abortion without discussing it with them, but when it comes down to it, it is the woman's decision.
