I did some research and Dolly Parton's name is not Melanie so therefore, she has absolutely nothing to do with this discussion but it did make me do some research and laugh at the whole thing. Thank you I needed that.

This reminds me of when I was in 8th grade and our English teacher had us make our own videos at school. He showed my class videos he had made with his other classes. One of them was a comical spoof of the show Degrassi Junior High, where they had funny versions of all the character's names from the show. One of them was a girl named Watermelanie.

The point was that Dolly Parton HAS big 'melons'. Not that she is named 'Melanie'.

Shouldn’t that be “Do people named Peter have rocks?” (Peter=Petrus=Rock)

Hey Beavis, she said "melons".

Seriously, I doubt it. My name is Zinc but I don't like eating zinc.

There's a Weird Al song called "Sweet Melanie" that has nothing to do with melons. It's basically about him falling in love with a girl named Melanie (after seeing her in the shower) and can't understand why she doesn't love him after he turns into a creepy stalker and does crazy things like give a Mohawk to her cat, then eventually commits suicide and now he's dead but still singing how he still loves her.

My wife is named Melanie. She likes melons about as much as anyone else does. She is big-breasted and spent her school days getting stupid comments about her "melons." So...um...yeah.

After the Spice Girls broke up, Sporty Spice did some albums under the name Melanie C. I wonder if she has a C cup

Melanie is from the Greek, and it means "dark/black."

Interestingly, there was a character named Melanie, on a cartoon called "Josie and the Pussycats" who came across like a "dumb blonde," and had almost white hair.

I think her name was really "Melody" I used to read the comics as a kid, and she would always have musical notes in her voice balloon, I guess to imply she had a silly, sing-song kind of voice, or her voice sounded like music bring literal meaning to her name.
