I hope they survive. It's my favourite place to shop.

I collect toys, dolls and stuffed animals mostly, and about once a year in the summer my mom and I take a trip down to where they have a Toys R Us and a few other stores I like that aren't where we live. If it closes I probably won't bother going this summer, even if they still have Build-a-Bear. :(

Never been to one, and haven't been to a toy store for who knows how many years, so it doesn't matter one way or the other to me

The international locations are not affected by the chapter 11 :bounce:

My info now is that Toys R Us is in fact closing all of their retail locations. The bankruptcy didn't save them.

I know. I'm guessing to much competition from stores like Target and Walmart did them in.

Yep. Pretty much all of my favorite booksellers except Barnes and Noble are gone. RIP to Borders, Crown, and Walden.

Sometimes I wish that we could stay in the 20th Century too.

Funny thing is though. It seems like only yesterday that folks were bemoaning how big box chains were driving local merchants under. Now were all bemoaning how the big box chain stores are all going under.

This really sucks. I wished I had spent time going there when I was a kid, but my mom said that everything there is too expensive. Now that Toys R' Us is closing, I am devastated and resent my mom for not taking me there when we had the chance.

It seems that a lot of childhood memories I had are no more. They don't sell Dunkaroos or Squeezits anymore, Trix cereal is shaped and colored differently, a lot of classic rock bands I would have liked back then don't have the same members anymore, Sweet Pickles books have been out of print for years, a lot of childhood celebrities from various kid shows have died or left, and now stores like Blockbusters and Toys R' Us are closed. F*** 2018, I want to be in the '70s

I wonder what in the future will come along and sweep amazon and such out to the garbage bin of history?
