I think the brain amplifier is genus. I like the idea of making my brain 10% larger than it is now.

I also like the idea of an optical scanner for LPs as well.

A device that without fail would let me understand and be understood by animals What's a waveform discriminator?

a device that separates a compound audio waveform into its constituent parts, unmixing it as it were. this would allow me to take an old monophonic recording, say from a 78 rpm record, and separate/extract all the musical parts in it and remix them into S*T*E*R*E*O sound. there are digital attempts at this with mixed results.

Ah, I see, thanks for the explanation.Sounds good.

Learning pills. You take one and will instantly learn all the things that you would have normally spent years and years being taught in a school.

Solar powered zeppilins.

cargo ships that both carry municipal garbage to china for recycling, but also burn some of the trash (instead of coal, or oil) to power the ship on the way across the Pacific to China.

Some kind of robot whale that mimics filter feeding whales in nature, but instead of eating plankton, "eats" plastic waste drifting in the sea. Have a school of them swimming around the gyres of the oceans.

All of these would be great, as well as the pill that would fix everything.

I think Holodeck would be my favorite one because you can see what alternate history would be like.

Am i the only one that doesn't want a machine that automatically heals all disease? How would we learn if we did? Not to mention over population issues to add to the current over population issues...

But to add, i also really really want showers to come with built in body driers. It takes far too long getting dry after a shower.

Also want technology that enables us to translate the languages of the animal kingdom so I can have lengthy in depth conversation with my ratties about why they eat their food in their toilet.
