This was yesterday, but I saw a HUGE earthworm that I thought was a small stick at first (until I saw it move). I did grab a small stick to try to pick it up to move him/her back into their dirt, and when the stick touched, the giant worm thrashed so wildly that it got off the ground at one point!

A second try got him/her safely on the dirt and off the sidewalk.

Saw a bunch of baby geese today! (and their parents, of course)

I think I saw an oriole too, but I'm not sure.

It was a good evening for watching bats yesterday (Pipstrelles mostly, I think.)

might have seen a juvenile skilton’s skink with a blue tail last week. within the couple seconds of view, it looked like liquid silver with metallic deep blue paint on it’s tail, and moved almost snakelike between some brush.

while walking today... some curious dogs in yards, many bees, pill bugs, and lizards.

Shadow of wolf, I think. Could have been a dog.

I think a bat flew right past my face the other night, but it was too dark and too fast to get a good look at.

A while ago, I was outside at night, and I heard the unmistakable call of a barred owl.

Not every owl simply says "hoo". Some owls prefer to make a little song out of hoots.

I saw a frog in my front garden a couple of hours ago. It was very small, hope it had some older family around, or at least was able to support itself.

I think that might have been the first frog I've seen in my adult life, a sad reflection on what's happened to the environment in recent decades perhaps.
