Can't prove that we exist in a simulation, can't prove that we don't.

So, "Is life a computer simulation?" is a null question.

Depends, do you want the red pill or the blue pill?

I felt like that a lot when I was going through a psychotic depression. It was something like dissociation &/or depersonalization which can be symptoms of other disorders than depression too

Interesting ... do The Sims know that they are bots? How about the critters in WoW?

If you program a neural-network bot to simulate anxiety when it fails to learn something correctly, does it actually feel emotional pain?

Deep, deep thoughts ... :nerdy:

Is autism part of a testing schedule. Was schizophrenia created by cyber-pirate? Are birth and death computer reboots. Who has drawned the beautiful intersidereal space? Where is Morpheus?

Actually...yes.

We are all just characters in a game of Farmville, being played by a giant geeky kid in another universe.

And that giant geeky kid is himself... a character in a game of Farmville, on a giant device, being played by another, even MORE giant geeky kid, in a bigger scale universe.

And THAT geeky kid is a character in a game of Farmville...

It's a simulation in as much as everything you perceive is your brain's interpretation of the chaos that is the universe. You could also say the brain is effectively a computer.

What a boring game to, you'd think with that tec they'd make it fun.

When you play a video game, do the random background characters have "fun"? Perhaps we're all part of the program and there's only one player.

to the sims, we are in "echelons beyond reality." but in turn, us echelons beyond sim reality reflect our conceits back onto the sims. it is like we are the creators and the created.

I think it's an experiment. I just need to prove it. But I do know from my own experience that this is all fake in some way. Reality, or "reality", changes but no one else remembers it, or they're lying to me. Usually they're only small changes though and I think it's either just to f**k with me a little bit more, or a mistake. Maybe even a bug if it is some kind of computer simulation, one that we're all inside of; I don't think anyone's a bot. But I do think that most people are in on it, if not all of you. But sometimes I wonder if there are others like me.

Then there's this annoying thing.. I can't fully believe something without solid evidence, which I don't have. That means I'm forever stuck somewhere in the middle. I can't trust anyone and I'm sure I'm right about all this but there's still a part of me thinking "what if I'm wrong?".
At this point, I really don't think I am, though. And you know that I know, so me admitting it here wont matter but I am afraid of what might happen if I told someone in person, since this world at least reacts in a seemingly believable way and I don't need people pretending to help me, which would likely be set up to actually make things worse. Either that, or nothing will change at all. So it'd make things worse and/or remind me that even when I seek help, I can't get it. Of course I can't. I know this. But I used to be very strong willed and never gave up.. I guess there's still a small part of me that's like that for some reason.
Considering all of those things and more, I try to act as if I believe everything is as it appears to be. I don't know what else I can do right now but I know I can't keep going like this. I had an idea in mind but it didn't work out...

And that's the most truthful I've ever been when it comes to what I think about reality.

That's a win-win as if it's not true you will have an interesting life.

I disagree. An interesting life to live is not the same as an interesting life to play.

That's the way it is for me at any rate. I very much enjoy my life (minus some medical issues), but I wouldn't be entertained playing it in a video game. Likewise, I would hate to be the vast majority of characters I've played. Pokemon, Fantasy Life and Rune Factory might be exceptions to the rule, although even those worlds have plenty of dangers and hardship.
