I can't speak to whether or not birds fart. I have spent time helping to rehabilitate injured raptors such as hawks, owls and bald eagles. They eliminate waste so forcefully that their waste squirts 3-5+ feet with almost no warning. I refer to it as "waste" rather than feces because birds don't urinate that I'm aware of.

Anyway Major Tom went to turkey heaven a few years back.He expired of old age,not something most turkeys get to do.

He was the astronaut in Bowie's "Space Oddity" hit song. Not to be confused with Elton John's "Rocket Man" (the two songs kinda merge together in my mind).

But its also a good name for a "tom" turkey who ruled the roost.
