I liked it better when the whistle at the beginning of the Flintstones was a low-toned factory whistle (later episodes), rather than the screechy bird whistle (earlier episodes).

Barney also had a high, screechy voice for the first few episodes. Then, he developed the jolly voice he is known for.

Sewing.

I come from a family who sewed clothes and made do by fixing things, so to me it was natural to learn to sew.

I can take up a hem to a very high standard. I can make skirts and dresses too, but haven't done so for a while.

What a boring skill. :D

I can cook but a lot of people know more than I do about cooking. I just went looking for cilantro in the markets and found a place nearby that sells it. I was thinking of elevating my cooking by cutting my steaks into large pieces that look good with no bone or gristle. And then chopping up the scrap pieces to make tacos.

I am learning to sew. I have a lot of T shirts that need to be smaller.

I suck at sewing and such----but it's not a "boring" skill.

I would bet a man would feel mighty comfortable if you knew how to sew in a button in his dress shirt.

I can do rudimentary sewing by hand (hems, buttons, alterations), but not run a sewing machine. I do own a sewing machine and I was taught to use it, but I don't remember. Maybe I will try You Tube tutorials. I like the smell of sewing machines when they operate.

BTDT: I'm going shopping shortly, and cilantro is on my list for pulled pork tacos.

korts: Barney was played by many characters after Mel Blanc's devastating automobile crash.

My knitting is very accomplished. I'd like to learn crochet.

I really know only the original Flintstones very well----and maybe a little bit of Pebbles and Bamm Bamm.

I can crochet, but I can't knit. I like making smilies, but they're are rather useless things.

I attempted making crochet necklaces at one point. I was going to sell them on eBay. I should take that up again.

Informational research. I'm most impressed by my abilities to ferret-out important information e.g., trends which too often would otherwise remain overlooked in the vast ocean of data, and information alike!

In short, to separate the "signal from the noise" (and separating further noise......from the signal).

That is a very good skill ^^

I'm really good at languages. I've just discovered duolingo and I can just jump into any new language I want and learn some new words.

I wish I had realised when I was younger. I would have studied a language to a higher level and become a translator. Maybe I still could...

That matters: poetry.

That could matter if I invested in a scanner and got more confidence: visual art. I don't submit it anywhere but I have the sense I'm a good artist and I've spent a lot of time studying it.

That doesn't matter: crosswords/song quiz/quizzes in general/puzzles in general...

They sure are fun though.

In fact I won a fiver once for being good at quizzes so maybe it's not an entirely useless skill.

Reading people. I took courses in Behavioral Psychology, Crisis Intervention, and "Psychic" reading. I can usually determine a person's background and personal concerns after just a few minutes of speaking with them.

Unfortunately, some people with personal issues are really more interested in the attention they receive for complaining about their problems than they are in resolving those issues -- especially if the resolution requires any person effort or improvement on their part.

So it could be said that I have something of a "Cassandra's Curse"; that is, no matter how truthful and accurate my advice may be, the people who need it the most refuse to believe that it's true ... unless I tell them that I am a "psychic" and charge them $50 per reading ...

 There are no real "Psychics"...

Making the people I really, really like ignore me forever, with no closure or anything to heal the hurts forever buried.

Maybe if you worked in your bedside manner? Nobody likes a psychologist who they feel is judging them harshly. Think of these people with issues as being like 12 year old kids. Sometimes you just have to sugarcoat things for "kids" if you really want to help them and not make them worse.
