I think you mean something else thou MG. I think it may be due to popularity & others being self-centered. Walking off is seen as a sign of disrespect for the speakers. Others don't want to hear you but your all expected to feign an interest & likeness for the others who do speak sense they are higher up on the totem-pole.

Not as much here, though in the past 3 days I have apparently killed 2, maybe 3 threads.
But out and about, and at work, I cannot seem to carry my part in a conversation.
Sigh.

Killed threads? Poor things. Uhmm. I could go to the funeral? Haha.

In real life I can say something in a conversation and the one of the other people chatting will say "Moving on..." and they carry on talking as if I wasn't there. Is funny when they do that as somehow what I say is on a whole different level to their conversation!
