It takes about 18 hours to fly non-stop from Los Angeles to Manila.  Imagine being in "Coach" class for the entire trip.

I usually take 5mg of Valium just before getting on the plane, and again halfway through the flight.

I'm the same.
Gambling and dazzle isn't my thang either. 8)

I've never been to Dubai, but it does look interesting. I'm not sure if it's interesting enough to me to want to get on a long flight to go there though.

I've been to Las Vegas once. It's kind of neat actually, but it's not the type of destination I would likely choose over something like Disneyland. I'm not super into gambling, and I got my fill of the eclectic knockoff architecture and impressive, grand hotels, casinos and shopping centers when I went there. I also don't really care for large crowds and loud noises, so it's just not my kind of destination.

I've heard too many stories about westerners getting into trouble because they do or say the 'wrong' thing.
I wouldn't go there in a pink fit.
Same goes for Africa and of course, the politically 'red' countries.

Zero appeal to me, either. I wouldn’t go on a trip to Las Vegas if I was paid a million dollars plus another million in gambling money to do it.

I guess if you like big buildings and such, Dubai might not be bad.....

If you like three-digit outdoor temperatures during the day for 9 months out of the year, that is.  Most of my time there was spent indoors, trying to avoid the heat.

What places would you want to see?

I don't have a specific place I'd like to visit there yet, but I'd like to go to Japan eventually. I think Japan is really pretty. I've also wanted to visit Norway.

I’m not actually much of one for traveling at all.

No interests... Except if family's going, which actually happens to.

I had little issues with any forms of travelling;
But I have a lot of said issues before travel is feasible or allowed. Unless I got lucky.

I would really like to travel. Better if possible to do it alone.

You are certainly not the only one!

I don't see the appeal of visiting Vegas at all.

I don't have a fascination with either place. I have much stronger attachments to Berlin than anywhere else.

I drove through Vegas with my family as a kid back in 1969 when we packed into the station wagon and drove for the east coast to the west coast of the whole USA.

We had just gone through the lovely interesting deserts of New Mexico and Arizona. The Desert of Nevada was different...just bleak, and lunar.

Miles and mile of bleak lunar sterile desert, and then SUDDENLY...the glitz and glare of Vegas assaults your eyes. It was midday. No Neon lights. But the glitz and glare of the ostentatious signage was still overwhelming anyway. A few minutes of oppressive glitz and glare of all the hotels and their signage (Ceasar's Palace is the only specific venue I remember), and then you pass the city limits, and suddenly... its back to the surface of the Moon again. But hey... if you're gonna have that kinda tackiness - where folks endulge in the forbidden, then the middle of a lunar desert is the place to put it!

Never had any desire to go back.

Berlin is a very interesting city with lots of history, I went their nearly two years ago and I'd like to go there again.

I've been to Vegas about five times, because I have family there and in California. We'd usually drive from LA to Vegas, but I've also flown because it's only a short trip. I don't love Vegas at all and I'm not into gambling (or burning to death from the sun), but it was nice to see my cousins. We spent most of the time boating on Lake Mead and exploring the Hoover Dam. There's more to Vegas than the casinos.

I haven't been to Dubai but my friend's daughter moved there when she got married. She's a businesswoman and she became a kazillionaire very quickly. The pictures were beautiful.
