Don’t regular every day people wear bright colors all the time unless they are at a funeral though?

I dunno, Anglo-American fashion tends to be pretty drab and dour. That's not to say that no one every wears colour, just that it's not especially colourful, even compared to other parts of the west.

I think in this case regular and everyday just mean you don't look like you're trying to be part of a subculture.

No.  Most of us in Management seem to wear black suits almost every day because doing so gives an impression that we are conservative professionals, and not likely to take "un-necessary" risks.

 (Then we go ahead an take those "un-necessary" risks because they usually lead to success!)

Hell no.

Most folks wear drab grey, kaki, or blue denim, and often in black.

Okay... most MEN do. But even ladies dress only slightly more colorfully than guys these days.

Your second pic looks like you're a person who just happened to grab a black sweater out of the closet. No distinctive "look".

The First one actually has a bit of "Daria" ( the MTV cartoon girl) look. But hardly goth.

 No.

I wear a lot of dark clothes.
Not much out of choice. I never even brought any!

Black and dark clothing happened to circulate a lot around the house. Yes, I said circulate.
So I'm not sure if it's my mom or my sister.

None of us had any particular aesthetic in mind. It may not be common here.
And none if us are either goth nor emo.

I’m just so worried a program I’m attending will think I’m a satanist or devil worshipper. I’m not religious or spiritual in any way, shape or form. I just recently stopped masking and sometimes I catch myself feeling the need to.

Bright, girly colors make me feel awkward and like I’m wearing a costume.

You cant win for loosing!

You grab black clothes because you feel "wearing bright colors make you feel like you're wearing a costume". But then you worry that by wearing a black garment or two folks will think that you're 'wearing a costume'... to fit into some subculture.

Dont worry so much about it.

If people conclude you're a devil worshipper because you're dressed in a very normal, mundane way that's on them, not on you.

It's not like you're showing up in corpsepaint with spiked bracers and an inverted cross necklace.

Wear what makes you comfortable and anyone who complains can eat a flaming bag of dog turds.

Your look reminds me a lot of a friend of mine who went through a Goth phase when she was younger, but now just likes dark clothing. Nothing wrong with that! (She works as a singing teacher, and has thus far managed not to scare off any pearl-clutching parents of posh kids.)

In the 90s Nickelodeon cartoon Doug, a Beatnik was somebody who was a fan of the music group The Beets. The Beets of corse were a parody of the band The Beatles. However The Beats were a parody of the band itself & their music was not in the style of The Beatles. The Beatles are good but I would much rather hear The Beets
