I think you'll find there has not been 1 year without a war somewhere.

IMHO, there was no point to WW1, WW2, etc. Consider the decline of communism and the USSR. It shows that no bad system is sustainable in the long run. Had Nazi Germany won WW2 it would, like the USSR, have altered (possibly quickly had there been a successful assassination attempt on Hitler). So 50 - 60 years on, Western Europe may not be much different from what it is today. So what was the point?

Or would it be different?

If a country does not have competition from other countries (rising standard of living of neighbours who have more resources to put into missile defence/space race or whatever, there is no imperative to reform in order to keep up. We may not have had the advances in productivity that give us a higher standard of living that people had 100 years ago and we could be living in a police state (Oh I forgot, we are  )

I think that both world wars were justified, and at the cost of many lives, change was brought about for the better. Millions of Jews were killed in concentration camps, don't forget that. Not an international war being fought in the concentration camps, a war against Jews, fellow humans.

Certain countries will compete against each other continuously, and without military competition, the world's technology would be severely behind what it is today.

If Nazi Germany had won, then the Jews would be very rare indeed. Pointless suffering of many innocents.

"The only thing neccessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

I'm afraid that's how the world works, and there are still loads of conflicting factions in the world. The politicians in the last world wars couldn't come to an agreement, as their interests clashed with each other, and so on and so forth. In WWI the wars carried on until the European superpowers could fight no more, Germany surrendered eventually; whereas in WWII the fighting was spread out over a wide area, and Germany still lost in the end.

War is very neccessary, and you cannot change the past, either.

I don't hate war, but I do hate people who hold the human race back, or let it down, by being degenerate or stupid.

Not true. There are NTs that I agree with, and aspies that I don't agree with. That's just stereotyping aspies as good and NTs as bad.

The world is only as crap as we make it. It can be very unfair, though hardships make some people strong and determined.

except England didn't declare war because of concentration camps. It was declared because Germany invaded Poland. The extent of concentration camps was not fully known about until 1945. The reason for fighting Germany had nothing to do with the jews, and what about the millions of people killed as a result of bombings and "collateral" damage, not to mention the soldiers on each side.

Just food for thought.

Personally, had I been the right age and the right time, I would have been a participant in war.

Why do people rush from place to place so they can relax and have a good time?

Why do you make a bed when you are just going to sleep in it again 16hrs later?

Why do people get drunk when they always regret what they do the next day/

Why do girls always fall for the bad boy when deep down they know they are going
to get their heart broken?

OK, these aren't particularly good but I tried.

Humans are literally pointless, they just keep trying to push forward and always fall short. They never fulfill their ideals.

Hence why humanity is doomed for failure. Our endeavours are vain; just another jerk on the ol' ego. LET'S GO TO SPACE! Why? So we can broadcast the first steps man has taken on the moon and feel proud?

Humanity reaches for the sky and in the meantime forgets whats at its feet, tripping over rocks and dog s**t.

That's why I choose to enjoy life rather than worry about how much the world sucks. Since we basically just create projects, then never fulfill them to the ideals extent; we have failed already.

All we can accomplish now is developing technology into some absurdly grotesque enterprise full of gadgets we don't need and technologies that will just make people more dependant than they already are and take life even more for granted; that and sustaining the environment so we can LIVE on Earth.

Enough with the cynical nihilism about the world.

We all know WE can have fun in our worlds, despite the external.

I know that. Appeasement and hostilities in Europe lead up to WWII. Hitler was dangerous after all, and bent on world domination in the name of Nazism. He did a good job up until he launched a bombing campaign against Britain and then started Operation Barbarossa in 1941, which eventually became a disaster for the Germans.

WWII was fully justified anyway, and brought about great change.

Humanity just needs guidance, it will flourish into a mature sentient species one day. Think of how much we have achieved so far, and what will be achieved. Social advancement needs to be achieved as well, and it will be, whether before or after this species starts to colonise other planets. I wish that I could see that, I'd have myself frozen to find out. The world at the moment is full of degeneracy, greed, ignorance, idiocy, and everything that is wrong with humanity today, but there is also alot of good as well.

Yes, I still have faith in the Human Race, either way.

I still can't believe that so many people fell for Hitler's lies.

It also is unbelievable to me that after what happened to the Jews, Gypsies and other groups in the 2nd World War, the same kind of thing was allowed in the former Yugoslavia in recent times and in Rwanda!

WW2 shouldn't have occurred and much of the reason was the ridiculous policy of appeasement followed by England and the League of Nations and the punitive reparations imposed upon Germany after WW1 (which led to the collapse of the German economy and the rise of Hitler).

I still can't believe that there are so many people willing to fight. Look at America in Iran, Israel and Palestina.... in the case all men decide not to fight, there should be no war. And sad but it will become worse in the future.
I wonder if nobody from a certain nation wants to fight, can that nation be overcome?
