I used to write diaries a lot. But when I left to live with my mother, I found out my father had read them all and destroyed them... books of my writing from when I was anorexic etc and a teen. I have not kept one since.

I started writing in a diary when I was 17 or so years old. It started as a text file on my computer. Then I recently put it on Google so if the house burns down it won't be lost forever. It's on a Google server somewhere where it will remain forever. Unless someone cracks my account and deletes it, that is.

In my diary basically I write about my relationships, family, what the hell is wrong with me, depression, ideas and insights, etc. Just thoughts and things that come up that I think is worth writing down. I don't write every day, but I usually write something once every week or two. It helps put things into perspective. It's also interesting to read the things you wrote six years ago. I wonder what I'm going to think about what I'm writing now 20 years into the future! Scary thought.

Yes, but I draw in it more than write, or rather do combinations...here's a page I did in it...

A lot of what I do is art or concept work for my novel, but some of it, like the image above, is just symbolic of my personal life. I rant in it a lot, sometimes ranting through pictures....

Two years have passed since the last posts in here, which means it’s time to resurrect the thread. 8)

So do you?

I do, but I call it my journal instead of diary. I started when I was about 12 so I've finished several. I dated this guy for a little over a year, and for a good while I let him read what I wrote in it. I started subconsciously monitoring what I wrote and now I have this very large gap where I wrote the most BORING things in my journal. Letting someone read it was an extremely dumb thing to do.

No, my mum gave me one for next year, so I'll probably have one next year.

I have an offline diary and an online blog. My current offline diary started in 2007 when I landed in the psych hospital, but I've had others from 1997 on. I started my blog in 2003 I think (although it has some entries from 2002, but I grabbed those from elsewhere), but it's been at its current location since 2007.

I won two hand made diaries two months ago, well, actually it was just one (a miniature one, not much bigger than just a matchbox) but they told me they'd send me also a normal sized one to apologize to me in this way for the delay. When I get them, I'll start writing in it.

Nope. I've never seen the appeal in it, all it'd do is make it easier for people to spy on me IMO.

I keep a dream journal. Badly. If it was a plant it would have died several times over.

I have random diary entries from between 2007 to 2009 saved in a box in the garage. I would like to start another diary sometime soon. I think it would be beneficial to write down my feelings, since I have such a difficult time expressing them through spoken words and body language.
