personaly prefer russell howard who is a stand up commedian when he isnt doing his bbc3 'good news' show.

he has a way of talking about disabilities in a humourus way without being offensive.

I love stand up comedy. The more I relate to the comedian, the funnier it is.

I need to find some new funny people, any suggestions? Perhaps some newcomers?

The sarcastic, provocative, intelligent and drunk ones are my type:

Bill Burr - perhaps my No 1 favourite
Steve Hughes - very influenced by Carlin etc, but does it well
Carlin
Hicks
Dave Allen
Dylan Moran
Wanda Sykes
Richard Pryor

Have to mention Bill Cosby too... Have you seen this? Not stand up, but brilliant anyway:

Some of Reg D Hunter´s jokes too are priceless.

I also like this show by Diane Spencer:

I loved watching stand-up when I was younger but now I'm just not into it any more.
I did watch a few videos of people who were just terrible at it, though. One guy, who apparently was drunk, seemed to think he had to drop enough eff bombs to start WW3 to make anyone laugh, plus he was very sexist. The only ones who got any laughs were the hecklers. When the guy starts saying "You know who did something something? MEN. You who invented something something? MEN." A heckler, who was also a guy, said, "Do you know what's not on stage right now?"

Great idea for a thread, by the way.

John Oliver (host of Last Week Tonight and temporary Daily Show host) is hilarious. Here's one of his sets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPLzPXtFsoM.
