I don't mind the idea of living forever with AS... if anything, I think it'd be preferable to living forever as an NT. However, I don't think I could bear to watch everyone I ever cared about grow old and die while I stayed the same. Also, once the first generation of people dear to me had died, I don't think I could really move on and find more.

If you lived forever you will be able to eventually, it might be harder for you though.
Wanting to live forever is also pretty irrational, because Earth will not be around forever.. But if you are going to live forever, whats going to happen to you when earth experiences its next ice age or armegeddon? Or when it gets sucked into the giant black hole, which is supposidly going to happen in a very long time from now.. What, are you just going to drift into the nothingness of space for all eternity? When I was younger I had a lot of dreams about floating through space but it was always interesting because the sights were beautiful, but chances are if you really live forever it will probably take eons before you actually come across another solar system or something neat to look at  Otherwise, yea I guess living forever wouldnt be that bad at all

I would like to live the maximum lifespan that genetics will allow me (in my family, that is between 80-90 years old) in good health and a good mental state, but I wouldn't like to live forever.

I will let you in on a big secret, whiteskunk. They will take away my AARP card if they found out I was telling you this, so listen carefully.

IT IS NO FUN TO SAY TO A CHILD "WAIT UNTIL YOU'RE MY AGE".

Now I know you might not want to believe me, but everytime it gets said, it reminds the older person saying it how hard and dissappointing it was to finally realize what your youthful optimism will go through when YOU figure it out, too.

Somehow we are just trying to soften the blow, but it comes out like we are being all arrogant in our 'wisdom'.

ok, I hear the Grey Panthers knocking on my door and they are planning an assault through the front windows. . but take the truth and spread it around. . .

gotta go!

Yes, I would. To see the progression of humanity over centuries, even milennia would be fascinating.

No, it would get boring after a while. I don't even want to live really long. Knowing I will die in the end gives me some satisfaction, rather than knowing I have to live forever.

I'd choose immortality, as long as there is no Faustian deal attached.

The Faustian deal is what makes it all worth while :)

Yes...if I did not age too badly.

No. But longer would be nice. Our human lives are short, considering the vast amount of knowledge out there, things to learn, things to do, and the way life gets just complicated enough that you can hardly get to any of it. 200-300 years would be great, providing we also aged MUCH more slowly, even relatively speaking. And all humans would have to have this lifespan. Doing it alone, despite my aspie-ness, would still be unpleasant.

Forever would be an insanity forging curse.

Considering that we are determined to live our lives in the little box called society; you can count me out.
