Ok. Got an interesting one for yas. But not 'til I get to the Senior Prom part. lol.
Went to lots of dances in HS. None were all that much fun, but it was nice to have something to look forward to...even if it was always a considerable letdown. I went to homecoming Freshman and Sophomore years....rather boring and stressful. Junior year I went to homecoming with my girlfriend at the time that I met during band camp...although she was in flag corps/color guard. I went to the Winter Semi-formal with her as well as Prom for junior year...all pretty lame, save for the out-making. Senior year, we decided to skip Homecoming and have a nice night out by ourselves...we went to a nice Japanese restaurant, followed by Rush Hour 2 in the theatre, followed by a considerable amount of time in a minivan. By the time winter semi-formal rolled around, we had broken up and I had a new gf that lived 600 miles away. By senior prom, I was again single, after realizing how pointless/expensive long distance relationships are. I didn't really have many friends left at school and didn't really have anyone to go to prom with, so I asked my first real gf.
Now comes the interesting part...Lily(date/ex) had been going through a semi-goth phase, and wanted to "scare" people at my Catholic HS(prob. the only reason she went). She showed up with electric blue hair and makeup and a short blue skirt, I wore a black suit with a red plaid punk rock tie and a bondage collar. I had longish hair tied up and braided (kinda like a cat o' nine tails) with the underneath shaved.
I'm sure we drew some attention from the teachers/chaperones, but no one said anything. During dinner, she put green beans in her nostrils, and one of my friends took pictures(I still have, might be able to post later). After dinner, when the "dance" part started, we went off to a quiet area and sat in a chair and she called her best friend at the time. I think this was all planned out, because her friend showed up dressed in a similar fashion. She went out the front door, and had me waiting by the side to let them in. I didn't think it was a very good idea, but I didn't say anything(imagine that)(I'm not one to do any of this stuff). When she banged on the door, I let them in and went straight to the bathroom( for real). When I came back there were two teachers(Theology teachers nonetheless) waiting for me. They told me that I should know that I'm only allowed one date, and that one of them had to leave. As a result, they both left, mostly likely exactly according to their plan.
I spent the rest of the night and morning tagging along with the few friends I had through Drama Dept./Band activities. That weekend The Popes were playing wiht Seanchai as opener. My dad is super close with Seanchai, so we hung out with them on the bus after the show. I got a little drunk/stoned and it was pretty late on a Sunday. I showed up at school on Mon. with about 3 hours sleep and half a buzz. I had forgotten all about prom already, so I was confused as to why I was called to the principal's office. The principal asked me why I had my hair "skinned" to my head at prom and if I was going to fix it, and that was about it....I got off scott free. The thing was that I had been wearing my hair like that for a couple months and no one said anything, so I was even more confused.
Now I look back and wonder what would have happened had I been someone else, if I would have caught a detention or something. I wonder if they let me off because they knew I had a social disorder/Asperger's even though I had no clue at the time(I thought I was just shy). Pretty much all of the teachers were really nice/lenient towards me...all but one.
Anyway, hope this was interesting and something towards what the topic was started for. Maybe I'll get around to posting a picture or two.
