Leisure is best enjoyed in moderation in order for it to have the most restorative benefit

Be good to the people who looked after you when you were an infant

Try to accept bad circumstances ("accept" in the sense of acknowledging that this is how they are, not in the sense of deciding that they are okay) with peace and equanimity instead of railing against them.

Take a proactive role with your health. Don't automatically trust docs & others in the medical field to have the right diagnoses & treatment for you nor believe that everyone really cares about your best interest. All people majorly screw up sometimes. Do your own research & make suggestions about what you think could be wrong & what treatment you'd like to try. You know yourself better than anyone else does & some things like psych issues can be very individualized & what works well for one may be majorly harmful to another.

*adopt healthy dietary and health practices/habits when you are young, OR YOU'LL BE SORRY WHEN YOU'RE OLD!!
*buy low and sell high, as much as possible.
*cars are a big money waster, buy as much quality as you can scrape together and keep it 'til it disintegrates. stick to japanese cars such as honda and toyota, reliability is most important in terms of saving money and headaches.
*learn a useful and in-demand trade as early in life as possible.
*save and invest early, in dividend-producing stocks and bonds. don't try to time the market. index funds are best for joe average investor. do pay attention to market swings and treat each dip or depression as a buying opportunity. don't buy when everybody else is buying. don't sell when everybody else is selling. be contrarian.
bust your @$$ to get real estate in a down market. avoid paying rent if at all possible.
