My obsession is myself and my life and us and our lives! And I just want to say that username88 cheered me up today with news that the commune may be running in a month! It made me happier, but I'm still not happy! UUUUUUGH! I feel so awful! Haven't felt like this for about a month!

The American M-16 rifle was extremely prone to jamming and being rendered essentially useless following its initial introduction during the Vietnam War, with the Russian-made AK-47 proving far more effective in virtually every respect.

Starlight Express was originally going to be based on the "Thomas the Tank Engine" stories, until Andrew Lloyd Webber couldn't get the rights for them. Instead, he came up with a variation of "The Little Train That Could" crossed with a Cinderella-inspired story. The name of his company, Really Useful Group, is a sort of tribute to the Thomas stories, and was created to try and impress the author of the original stories. :)

Wolfgang Priklopil, the man who abducted Natascha Kampusch and kept her for 8 years, was known to be a loner whose idea of a great night in was reading electronics journals. He was known as a mummy's boy and never spoke about women or showed any interest in them. He spent a long period constructing an elaborate underground dungeon, replete with a ventilation system that he controlled from the main house as well as lighting that he controlled.

ya, its amazing u would think they woulda actually performed tests instead of just rushing to mass produce and put into service. The original assult rifle, and i know ill never spell it right like half of what I type, was the stermguveir meaning in German "assualt rifle" was actually designated by name from Hitler himself, who was originally against this kind of gun, but after he fired it desided it could help him win the war.

The M-16 changed during and after the vietnam war, some metal parts which caused the issues with the gun were replaced with plastic parts, which corrected the problems from what I understand.

Lynx point Siamese cats are called Tabby points in England. Both of my Lynx points have had tabby mothers and Siamese fathers.

Phoenix Wright was voted second in a Phoenix Wright popularity poll taken in Japan. He lost to his rival/friend Miles Edgeworth.

Yeah. The three-pronged flash-suppressor on the barrel didn't help, either (I think it was that which caused the rifle to jam, along with the dodgy chamber). Plenty of early battles resulted in the bodies of American soldiers being found with the cleaning rods still poking from the barrels of their rifles.

By contrast, the AK-47 was easy to use, had far better stopping power (with a heavier calibre bullet, to boot), and was tough enough to withstand having a freakin' tank drive over it - tests were actually done on both the M-16 and the AK-47 to this effect, and the AK-47 won out every time...

It's no wonder Samuel L Jackson recommended we "accept no substitute" in Jackie Brown! :P
